What is the Gospel? I thought it was the second Person in the Trinity taking on human nature, and defeating death on the cross? If these guys are correct, then the Incarnation was impossible, and the cross was impossible, since the Son took on human nature...tell me, how is that possible if Total Depravity is true. Did Jesus have a human will in bondage? If you say no, which any Calvinist will (no pun), then Jesus was not consubstantial with us, and didn't free us from anything.

Jesus was not born of Adam's seed...but of God's. Thus the will of Jesus was set in perfect obedience to that of the father's will.

And ministers of the gospel. Regardless of the smokescreens of the Obama campaign we are to preach "out of season" the gospel. This season many are more political than Biblical. Christ centered preaching leaves God to do the converting/transforming of the soul instead of novel ideas that actually work against God's purpose in preaching which is why the Church needs

Christianity has been falling away ever since the Catholic church changed the true sabbath day to sunday. It is unlawful yet most do not observe the true sabbath. It's a shame that people serve man instead of God. Saturday is the sabbath. God said if you love me you will keep my comandments! The power of the church has changed God's law without authority to do so.

I do believe that was clarified in the bible to not dwell on things such as what day is the sabbath. We are to keep A day. ONE day of the week Holy. We are to reserve a day of rest, worship and meditation on God, his Word and His will. We are to abstain from distractions and focus entirely on His glory. You are correct, Saturday is the Sabbath. But, so what? That is the calendar that was set up in that manner. What if they chose to move our calendar up two days. Then what? It's rather relative.

We are to do as our Creator says. If a life is in need of saving on a Sunday or Saturday, do you not save it for it would require work? Of course not. You save the life. It's not the Day that matters, it's the Act. The act of keeping time for communion with God. Getting wrapped up in methods and rituals will detract from what Christ did for us. He gave us our communion with our Creator back. Remember that. It's the act of keeping holy time for God that matters.

Saturday is NOT the Sabbath day. The seventh-day Sabbath was instituted by God as a SIGN in the Old Testament, a sign that showed that Christ had to do all the work in saving someone. Exodus 31:13: Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Just as the blood sacrifices and burnt offerings were signs pointing to Christ, so...

...too the Saturday Sabbath was a sign. Do you still offer burnt offerings? Why not? Because they were fulfilled in Christ. The Seventh-Day Sabbath was simply a sign, just as circumcision was a sign.

Matthew 28:1 was translated incorrectly. Instead of saying "In the end of the sabbath," it should say, "In the end of the sabbaths," or the end of the era of the Seventh-Day Sabbaths.

terminat1, I do agree with many things you said, my point is that many folk have unwittingly made the church itself an idol unto the lord by obeying the law of man instead of God. You have done right in doing your homework and reading your bible, however, many people do not do that, instead they go on whatever the church says is true. The holy spirit will tell you what is right for you and where you are in your walk. I'm glad you did not judge but used scripture. I like to observe Sat. sabbath.

Obviously since you know they messed up, you must know where. There are numerous primary source not biblical showing a historical Jesus. He is one of the most document people to ever live. Even my secular humanist professors where I studied history believe in a historical Jesus. This is why the Jesus Seminar was invented. Since he was real they needed to make him out to be a mystic. All we know for a fact is that he was NOT born Dec 25 other then that it is all a guess.
