If a rabbit thought that random noises and movements were attached to Agents even when there were no agents to cause these noises or movements. The rabbit, despite it's delusional thinking, is more likely to survive a lot longer then a rabbit that did not care to apply an agent to random noises or movements. The few times where a rabbit was under the impression that an agent was lurking in the woods, where there ACTUALLY was an agent(predator) then it has a heads up on fleeing.

although im a theist i tend to agree with most of wht Hitchens says n cosnider wht Dinesh claims to be mostly utter BS. Consider the survival example of the two rabbits he gave. SELECTION and SURVIVAL ADVANTAGE MOSTLY DOES NOT OPERATE ON INDIVIDUALS BUT POPULATIONS. In tht sense the rabbit giving his life for a "greater cause" cld be beneficial to it's grp whod be protecting themselves as rabbits from them wld die to protect others whod carry on this ideology.

Hitchens asserts that the whole account of Jesus is a legend. This is not the standard historical view. Historians are almost unanimous in agreeing that Jesus existed, was crucified, his tomb was found empty and that various people claimed to have seen the risen Jesus. Explaining these historical facts is the issue.

This clip is the least interesting for a debate, since I think they mostly agree, but to me it is really the whole root and core of why people are willing to slip into theology.

Life ending and with out an afterlife is obvoiusly not fun to think about or accept.

But then again, reason and logic have never been applied as to make one feel warm and fuzzy.

Makes sense there isn't a religion that states if you believe you'll just live forever here, oh wait we can proove you can't.
