  • nice car coming from a Camry owner

  • He's not hitting the rev limiter its a 2 step

  • Surprised i haven't seen some stupid comment flaming you for bouncing it off the rev limiter. Regardless car sounds incredible

  • which one is better the evo or toyota cilca ?

  • @cratos43 Toyota Previa bro. :P

  • @4g63kevin ahhaha good one

  • @cratos43 hahahha!

  • just love these cars aswell though i am more of a toyota fan. i still want one of these cars later, got a celica t20 gt atm :)

  • sounds good

  • very nicely executed =) makes me happy to see subaru and mitsu owners get along

  • thats what the stock evos should sound like

  • Damn now that's what an evo should sound like!

  • Sounds great, I could ditch my subby growl and get used to that.

  • I drive an sti....Best friend drive's an evo....We help eachother out when modding...No rivalry in friendship. But when we're on the street...Oh baby, its on

  • i dont no why theres so much controversy between the sti and evo..if anything they should be like brother or something right?

  • @06STiBOi yeah they should be.

  • @06STiBOi

    Exactly, sibling rivalry. :)

  • love Evo's and STi's. my buddy is hopefully picking up an EVO9 soon and hopefully ill be getting an STi so we can have our little rival

  • @fugitboy hahah word!

  • This car is sold now.. the guy it was sold to is producing over 400whp The cars a beast and it was a blast. im a friend of the owner

  • aww man! i thought it was gonna take off like a rocket!!!

  • doesnt limiting fuck up the engin?

  • depend son how high the limiter is set. but usually no the limiter is there so you dont fuck up your car.

  • on this car it is prob 5500 rpm limiter

  • Not limiting, launch control/2-step.

  • its not the rev limiter.. it's the launch control setting @ 5,000 RPM

  • nah man the evo 9 has a 2 step limiter, so when in 1st gear with the clutch in even if the accelerator is pushed to the floor it will only rev to about 5k instead of the 7k redline. it just makes it easier and better for launching because you can push it to the floor without damaging anything.

  • @yeltneBmadA whoa are you retarded? lol 2 step limiter is launch control reason people set it to 5k is so it will build up boost easier for launch not because you can push it to the floor without damaging anything if you push it to the floor and do not shift on time your just an idiot

  • @blopeezy i agree with it being used `for making boost before launching but its also designed to make launching easier. instead of messing around to get your throttle positioning right for a launch you can just mash your foot to the floor without fear of hitting limiter (which isnt good for your engine) and once you let the clutch out you are already at full acceleration (so no time delay going from 75% throttle at launch to 100% once moving.

  • badass look man

  • sound nice

  • see me 2 steppppin haha.

  • thas is 2 step??

  • sounds awesome, coming from an STi owner

  • Yea i love wen people dont hate and congratulate, even wen these are two rival cars.

  • @DSMking90 thats how it should be mate

  • GOTTA LOVE THAT 2 STEP!

  • Sounds like just the cat-back, is that true?

  • Its not so much how they drive them its how they take care of their cars as do they change the fluids and do they put cheap oil and oil filters after driving their cars rough for 5k+ miles.I drive the shit out of my wrx buty take care of it and have no problems at all with it and when I buy a s2000 here soon they are known to last 200k miles easy..Evos are known to have problems with coilpacks so I wouldnt say thats a reliable car but youre driving it not me so maybe thats reliable to you dunno

  • So your saying if I change the oil regularly with the correct oil I can abuse the shit out of it and will have no ill effect?

I haven't heard of any problems with coilpacks, must be a subie forum thing. According to the evo forums (the people that actually have evos) the tranny/transfer case is the most brittle thing on certain years. The subies (at least Stis not big on the WRXs) have tranny/axle problems, new ones have big piston cracking problems.

  • thats funny i had no problems and had my car 3 yrs also iut was a evo forum why would subaru owners waste their time talking about a car thats unreliable and youre welcome to have a unreliable car =-)

  • also yes the interior in my subaru seats suck but i didnt buy it for that so im gueiing the sti isnt great but the sti transmission was built with the help of porsche and lets take another look at mitsibuishi transmission rep...crank here crank there cranks everywhere...Ya i spent about 15 bucks on my oil perfromance filter and about 50 on my oil id say it helps alot maybe even so on a mitsibuishi some cars can take more abuse than others they are just built better

  • if u ask me any car is reliable it all depends how u take care of it. If you take care of it, it will take care of you

and are you going on about that stupid crank walk the 1st gen and 2nd gen DSM's had? the Evo's fixed that with the Evo V and on, no crank walking whatsoever. thats what happens when you merge with an AMERICAN company, shit isnt gonna be 100%.

  • More specifically, the 7 bolt motor. The only 1G's to have problems with crankwalk were late 94 model-year's when DSM started putting the 7-bolt motor into the 1Gb body style.

Even still, talking stuff about DSM's and crankwalk is beating a dead cow with a stick. I have maybe read a total of 5 cases where crankwalk was the death of a 7 bolt.

    DSM>all

  • actually the Evo tranny is bulletproof just like the WRX/STi (at least the 5 speeds, there seems to be a problem with the 6 speed trannys in the MR), its always the synchros that go bad or the transfer case. Coil packs never had a problem with them, have a friend who beats the shit out of his 04 VIII, 121k miles on it and no problems, just had basic 30-60-90k mile services and a new clutch in at 80k miles, brake pads here and there.

  • IF u have a family and need safety-wrx THERES A REASON FOR ALL THE XTRA FUKIN WEIGHT lol.

  • thats why anytime the 2 are compared the evo always comes out on top right? btw how many records does the STI hold? certainly not any on the drag strip and oh yeah on the tsukuba circuit the HKS Evo holds the record for FASTEST lap...not even the legendary R-34's can beat it on that track...thats saying something

  • yupp im afraid he has a point lol. evo's do hold a few records. i still dont get how an evo has a fastest lap time on tsukuba. r34's are crazzyy fast and have better handling. i wonder if the new GT-R r35 can break the record ehh?

  • not in wrc rally the subaru is for off road racing mitsubishi has not and will never touch subaru in rally racing Ever.

  • i own an evo ix and i must admit the sti is a higher quality car. they dont perform better but they are a hell of alot more reliable

  • speak for yourself... I think if you take care of the car and don't treat it like crap it will last just as long as an sti will. I put 40k on a little over a year on my Evo IX MR and beat the crap out of it, but I did keep up on the maintenance and never had a problem with it. Heck my HIGHLY modified Evo VIII hasn't given me a problem in 20k since all the work was done and its putting down 530awhp.

  • i agree bro wut i meant was as a whole subaru makes cars that have less overall promblems than cars manufactured from mitsubitshi. i used to own an evo viii pushin out 403whp and 381 wheel torque. and i will tell you mod to mod evos are better but quality wise its sti hands down. i owned an evo and an sti but i just traded my sti in for a gt 500 and after a few basic bolt on's tune, exhaust, smaller supercharger pulley etc its pushin out 603 hp

  • Oh yes then I agree with you on the whole Subaru overall has less problems then Mitsubishi...but as far as Evo vs STI in terms of reliability...I'd still take the Evo hands down. I don't see in any way how the STI is more reliable, but thats just me. Maybe since I've been problem free for the most part.

  • i dont think u know w you saying

  • bro ive owned both cars and if you owned both you would know the interior in the sti was better than that of the evo. and you would also know the car has less promblems but it does cost a hell alot more to modify

  • I think the looks of the Sti interior is hidious, blue inserts wtf. My evo 9 cloth interior > Sti's, thanks! Been in both just fyi.

  • ill agree most evos are faster than stis but i want a car thats reliable and mitsibuishi doesnt have one car that they ever made that was reliable or probably ever will be so whats the point of having a car thats a little faster if its always broken?

  • alsp sti has won 6 rally championships compared to 4 by evo is that saying something?

  • that subaru has better drivers?

  • lol typical answer but not really

  • and thats why subaru pulled out of the 09 WRC right?

  • um ya ok whatever you say doesnt change that subaru has won more rally championships cause its just a better off road car..How does it go?"You can talk the talk but mitsibuishi can't walk the walk"

  • they can walk the crank....lmao

  • Ok cool. but what does this prove? Is the Sti on the street the same one on the rally course? Hell no, all I care about is the one I can buy. I love both cars but when it came down to it I got an evo. They look better, cheaper to mod/hp, and I always considered it like the evil twin of the Sti. They both have problems but look how people drive them what do you expect? I think for the amount of abuse they take, they both are reliable cars.

  • My 06 wrx looks way better than a sti or evo but thats my personal choice as i dont like big ass wings on my cars but to each their own im glad youre happy with your evo cause than the demand for used subarus be even higher if people didnt like evos so youre helping me out when I buy another subaru and i dont consider any mitsibuishi car reliable however i never owned one and never will most likely...Ill agree they are cheaper to mod since they come with a 20g stock which is a very good turbo

  • I love the (stock) wings personally, like you said to each his own. I do not however like wings on anything else, civics, ...kias, etc lol. Um..your welcome not buying a car I didn't want? Thanks for not buying an evo so I had more choices!

  • i got blasted by a puff of smoke the last time i stood behind a evo 2 stepping

    haha

  • rofl fukin retard, boosted your the one talkin shit. stfu and fuk off lil kid.

  • rofl Geo?

  • Sounds awesome dude!

  • I'm in FL, and I had an STi. Just purchased an IX Evo 4 days ago. I'm sure i'd end up smacking your Evo. Trust me, my IX will too.

  • post some vids chump and prove it... Boosted you prob have a geo
