  • u wonder why girls hide in a women body.....

  • 0.o

  • this is so beautiful

    fuck yes

    whats genocide

  • he's hot!

  • I cry everytime I hear this poem cuz it makes me angry and sad at the same time to know that everything he says it true.....gives me the chills

  • I had to read this somewhere in college... i was like Damn, when i read it

  • I hate when Americans complain about little things and call it genocide, because there is real genocide in the world. Ask the 800,000 people that died in Rwanda if girls giving blow jobs in recess is genocide. (PS I am a American)

  • @saintdenis11 it starts somewhere. and it starts here..like this

  • @saintdenis11 Wow, you are taking it WAAAAAY to literal. All you are doing is taking the dictionary definition of the word genocide and saying that this guy is complaining about "little things." A 12 year old girl who is pregnant and HIV positive is not a "small thing" regardless of what country it is in and regardless of how many people were simultaneously killed in Rwanda. Genocide always starts small. Just ask the Jews from the Holocaust. It begins with a small group and then escalates. THINK

  • True

  • Omg that was beautiful.

  • I took the meaning that the way The new generation live is so un-human, with underage sex, gangs, self harm, that they are all killing them self emotionally and the genocide is all of the youth.

  • @hensd002 this new generation with underage sex? Seriously now this is just a taboo in this country known as the US of A throughout time age has not mattered between a man and a woman yeah they were married but then again 15 year old girls marrying old men things aren't any worse today then they have been, yes i realize that STD's are running rampant BUT the difference is that people today tell all their business to the entire world so lets just realize that the past does effect the present

  • @MrDeltaMaster I see what you mean, and i wasn't implying that. I ment it as a whole covering kids and teens who are forced in to prostitution, but surley you dont think it is right that a 14 year old girl having sexual realtion with a man in his twentys is right, when the child has a mind that can be influence easly without a full experiance of the world.

  • amazing !

  • This country has produced a spiritual genocide, not of dogmatism, but the end of that glimmer inside us.

  • This is so amazing, it never fails to give me chills..

  • This is so good

  • I am not so sure that the definition of genocide above fits per se, but I think its more importantly that we recognize that those are all issues that he describe and we need to act tother to try to solve them- act together as in united with the purpose of helping, not arguing like so many are doing below me in comments.

  • I think by genocide- he means that all these things, the way we ignore these serious issues are contributing to the destruction of society, and are what are destroying the future (youth). I think he means that by enabling girls to become copies of each other, and not stepping in so little girls aren't giving blowjobs in 4th grade and kids don't carry weapons to feel safe-- by enabling that and not doing anything that's genocide.

  • @ItalianaDancer good evaluation

  • this is beautiful

  • The problem with this poem is...its just that to society. Society doesnt take this to heart and find a solution to this problem, they applaud and give the guy recognition for a poem. When he would say fuck the poem, lets focus on what we need to do stop this madness from happening so we wont have to make poems of this nature. Little girls giving boys blowjobs should make everyone in this country (and across the world) angry as hell. But nobody cares, as television guides the youth into oblivion.

  • @9revolta first step to fixing something is realizing there's a problem. and its not television that's guiding the youth into oblivion, its the fact that people are so wrapped up in what makes them uncomfortable to do what's best for kids... the third of the class being pregnant, FIXABLE through comprehensive sexual education. So why don't we have it?

  • @squeeofdoom

Unfortunately, its too late for sexual education as kids as young as 5 already know about it. You have to expose the entities that created such madness in society, then work on solving the youth's problems. Mass media mind control, entertainment such as music and tv all influence the minds of the youth. Explicit material shown on tv all the time, it has become the norm. Attack the beast head on, everything else will fall into place.

  • @9revolta make that into a poem.

  • @9revolta what's wrong with blowjobs??? (age doesn't matter)

  • @rodenrren2

You think that shit is funny? You along with the other spongebobs think joking about this doesnt have consequences, it does. Maybe something bad happens to your little sister because you showed no compassion for another human being. Maybe she gets pregnant at a young age, and you'll look back at the comment you made on YT years ago.

  • @rodenrren2 if you think there is nothing wrong with young children giving blowjobs, then you are one sick mother fucker. Age doesn't matter, BULLSHIT!

  • I used to hate poetry in high school when it was presented as reading Edgar Allen Poe and spending a week pretending to write haiku.

I graduated nearly 10 years ago. I only read Phyllis Wheatley last week.

  • The truth is in his words

  • Tear-jerking. This is fantastic.

  • This is so heartbreaking. But what a powerful poem!

  • Great poem. I love how he mentions the US' testing of birth control on our Boricua (Puerto Rican) women. Its a shame how many secrets the US has. God bless.

  • This was just okay. His overall effect of his poem would have been better if he just slowed down a little

  • chills. I just got chills.

  • this guy from my school did this poem it was greeezy

  • he seems very full of himself though.

  • damn. I wish I saw this video four years ago. I would have had him come to my local uni (even though I was only a sophomore in high school at that time).

  • he played the armenian guy in Inside Man I think....but his real ethnicity is puertorican no? anyways, another great poem

  • I had chills watching him live performing this

and I had chills watching him in this video<3

  • Comment removed

  • this poem reads really well but i dont dig his recitation at all :C

  • His spanish is shit.

  • good message but

did anyone else read this on stumble and see the link at the bottom and go FUCK i should have just watched the video

  • @rusk1992 I was glad to see the link at the bottom, but I enjoyed reading it too. :)

  • qwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwertyqwerty

  • damn, i didn't know Reese from Malcolm in the Middle was so poetic! hahaha

  • It could be a byproduct of slam poetry, but his inflection is almost identical to Andrea Gibson in her poem "For Eli." search it, it's exceptional.

  • "she carved straight lines into her beautiful brown thighs so she can remember what it feels like to heal..." wow.

  • yo yo yo.... that was the real.. talk about it brother.. damn..

    -cam

  • Powerful vocal inflection, but i still don't how anything of what he said constitutes as genocide. What he points out is the problems within the lower class communities, mostly black and Hispanic, but there isn't a systematic execution of an expressed group or social class. Perhaps genocide in a light, metaphorical sense, but certainly not a literal one.

  • @LetOurLittleLadyTalk Perhaps it is silent genocide. Nobody seems to help those in poverty. The Institutions preventing those who can really save the kids, from teaching truth, censorship in class, or what we all need to learn to survive. Maybe the genocide is to blind the poor with ignorance and hate. A silent genocide.

  • dont censor your language carlos because its true genocide is this world

  • sexy!

  • this gave me chills

things as such as this makes the need for reform essential to our society

  • hes deep and awsome but also cutee <3

  • I saw Carlos preform this live last year. There was more energy than a rock concert in that room...

  • wat the fuck its genocide

  • i love poetry!

  • Omg that was beautiful!!!

  • Thumbs up if you found this on stumble

  • "My students thought Che Guevara was a rapper from East Harlem"

"How can literacy not include Phillis Wheatley?"

"Carlos, what's Genocide? Luz, this right here, is genocide."

Honestly one of the most honest, beautiful poems I've ever heard. He speaks about everything that the world seems to be trying to ignore.

  • @SingMeAnElla i think he was talking bout che geuvara as immortal technique

  • he speaks with mind, body, word and soul. brilliant

  • Africa for Africans. Asia for Asians. White countries for everyone. This is genocide against the white race. Nobody is filling Mexico with non-Mexicans and giving them special rights and privileges. If there were, what insane Mexican would not stand up and say NO to Mexicans becoming a minority in their own countries. But if a white person points this out and tries to resist, they are called a naziwhowantstokillsixmillionjews. They say they are anti-racist. What they are is anti-white.

  • @romanghost22 - A little knowledge for you, please tell all the white people you know who think the way you do.

Africa- there are whites in Africa. Not just South Africa but Botswana to Kenya, they've settled there. They associate with being African, not black but African and they check African-American on the college applications. Next. Asia and Asians, what do you speak of? Asia is a mixture of different ethnicities, China alone has over 65 but to whites they are all Asians, small eyes.

  • @romanghost22 - Mexico, there are whites. There are Mexican who are white they're on novelas and they are white in Mexico only. Once they hit the border they become wet back spics and the grunt of your anger. White genocide is impossible. You're just scared because your pedal stool isn't there no more. No one wants to be you, marry you and love you above all others and you cannot handle it. Your not exotic or coveted and it hurts. Well, welcome to the lives of colored people.

  • @callmetricia - Whites are being murdered and genocided in South Africa and are already being butchered daily in Zimbabwe, but I know that you don't care and honestly I'm not trying to reach you because as a non-white you don't care. Your comments about China make no sense. Whites are being targeted for genocide worldwide. Racist simply means white person. Anti-racism simply means anti-white. Africa for Africans, Asia for Asians, White countries for everyone.

  • @romanghost22 - First off I am NOT racist and I CARE about anyone being the victim of genocide. Secondly white people have caused the WORLD years and years of genocide. period. I am not a troll. I am just speaking the truth that white people don't want to accept. You can call me what you want but the truth is : what went around is going around. You guys had it coming.

  • @callmetricia In one sentence you claim you're not a racist, then you proceed to paint all white people with the same brush. Open your eyes you ignorant bigot.

  • @romanghost22 true we are under attack and in a fight we cant win because us white people have recessive genes which means eventually there will be no longer be blue green or grey eyed people left.

  • @romanghost22 please tell me you are trolling

  • @InvalidFactor I would say that it is callmetricia who is trolling. romanghost22 is right. As white people, if we don't like one single African American for their personality, we are called racist for not liking them. I had an African guy stalking me. Knew my number when I didn't even know it, called me for an hour before I pulled the cord. Came to my door three times in one night, and I didn't open it. I was afraid because of his behaviour, and he cornered me the next day to call me racist.

  • @JessicaHalo your life must be hard.

  • @InvalidFactor Everyone's life is hard. In my experience, people use their race and even age as an excuse to not even try. "Oh, I'm a Mexican/Black/16, no one will hire me 'cause they're prejudiced, so why should I even try?" Is there racism in the world? Yes. Is the correct response to be racist in return? How about rise above them and prove yourself? Asians were inferior for a very long time, and now they're the "smart" race. They didn't manage that by b'awwnig about how whites put them down.

  • @romanghost22 sadly white people are going extinct >.< im half and half my mothe being black, and my father white. If another anti race war happend, me and my brothers and sisters (and anyone of mixed racies would be dead) would be dead. So the main issue in the world is ignorance. there arent races, because we are all one race the human race ethicnic groups are skin color, culture is the people. so why fight anyway?

  • @romanghost22

And what constitutes a white country? Certainly not the U.S., which was originally inhabited by Native Americans, then invaded by whites, and had its economy built on the backs of blacks.

  • @PazPraSempre - Thank you Paz! Thank you!

  • The legacy of the the value-free society, brought to you by the 60's. Thanks Baby Boomers!

  • he got too "she carves straight lines into her

beautiful brown thighs so she can remember

what it feels like to heal" and i broke down crying

  • Wow! Poweful. Engaging. Eye opening. Watch it.

  • Gives me goosebumps every time.

Damn, I wish I could meet Mr. Gomez in Person. He could do a lot to help me with my MA Thesis. I am actually dissecting his poem for my work.

  • wat does he say in spanish?

  • @end3r25 "how old was your mother when she died?" and "she was so beautiful".

  • chills on every inch of skin

  • The words and the delivery are beautiful and passionate- gave me chills

  • DAYUMMS, that guy got a HUGE POINT.

  • he is coming to berks on the 26th yay!!

  • powerful stuff...

  • that dude does good work

  • He is so amazing.

  • "My students thought Che Guevara was a rapper from east Harlem"

He uses the meaning of the word Genocide in a way to illustrate that people all over the world are a part of a genocide. I think he means that society creates people of all sorts that play the part as victims in a genocide.

You guys need to interpret and read between the lines.

    This is poetry.

  • @Illuminatiii Right on! He has more great poetry at exelanopoet youtube channel.

  • Wow. I just stumbled across this searching for spoken word, but I "know" the person who posted this from a completely different website. (T-Ray, Life-Remixed)

On topic: definitely an interesting spin.

  • I just saw him last night at my school. He is incredible!

  • Comment removed

  • wonderful

  • one of my favorite poems. clearly genius.

  • And he's not white but so what if he was? Does that mean that what he's saying isn't true or any less valid? Andrea Gibson speaks out on racism and she's white

  • Genocide: the deliberate killing of a large group of people, esp. those of a particular ethnic group or nation.

Kill: put an end to or cause the failure or defeat of (something)

He's talking about the institutionalized standards of beauty and self hate covertly taught to minorities. So yes this is genocide and no one's saying its as bad as what's happening in Sudan, but that doesn't make it any less evil.

  • @Peanutter91 who are the minorities because last time i checked the worlds populations its us europeans who are the minority of the world and blue green and grey eyed people are monority in the white race which is fast becoming more brown eyed and black haired ever day thats ethnic geneocide.

  • @Peanutter91

Yes it does. Because in the western world you still have a choice.

But I still like what he´s saying.

  • He's not White FUCKER. And even if he was so what? I'm Black and I don't see your point. Truth is TRUTH!

  • your not that intelligent! what makes you think hes white with a name like carlos andres gomez?? and no ones felt worst genocide like the original people of the americas.

  • @StormW16

Eres un idiota. Hablas espanol gringo?

  • @StormW16

he does not look white. and carlos andres gomez is not a name a white person gives to their white child...

  • hes speaking on genocide in the USA iddiot

  • bravo

  • Wow.

    Totally cried.

    Rose-^->@

  • Im not someone who is into poetry, but this...this was amazing.

  • time to get into poetry, my friend

  • does anyone know if i can find this poem? i want to do it for speech

  • i agree with everything he says other than the genocide bit, its notg genocide at all . its still a horrible thing but it isnt genocide

  • goosebumps...but its so true.

  • gave me the shivers

  • I met him && hugged him

This gives me the shivers he is amazing

  • Wow. Gives me the chills.

  • he's amazing

  • he's my favorite of season 6...amazing!

  • I don't think this dude performs it like the others...he actually means what he say

  • @alumniman3 honestly, even though the message is true, his performance is shit. His sentences blur together when they are meant to be apart, learn your shit first

  • I could agree. It's slam poetry, in the end. =p

  • holy shit...thats deep...

  • Sometimes speaking the truth is hard, but for him speaking the truth is beautiful. Wonderful!

  • im srsly speechless!

  • In a way, he said what no one had the guts to say.

  • Absolutely stunning.

  • wow i jus got teary eyed. That was real

  • dang...

that was beauty, not beautiful, but beauty.

and some bits were so true i couldn't help but laugh

  • Saw Him Live Tni ... He Is Unreal!

An Beautiful I Have 2 Say!!

  • that"s DEEP

  • Damn. . . he's smart and hot . . . too much.

  • now this is what they should be teaching at schools, this man its a genious!!!!!loved it

  • That mad me cry. I work in the Oakland CA public school system and I know what he's talking about. It's heart breaking to know the children you care for are under the eyes of guns, pimps, and silence when they leave school. It hurts cause I know their still kids who cry if someone makes fun of them and ask for their mommys when their feeling sick. And at the same time have been witnesses to the sounds of gun shots and have been victims of solicitations from pimps. He said what I feel.

  • gave me chills

  • why? there is nothing wrong with this man. I don't understand your logic.
