  • would it work on windows 7 wont damage the system please reply !!!!!!!

  • @fcguners Nope, It's just a delay for killing processes at shutdown. Decreasing the delay makes it faster to kill the processes, and therefore it'd be faster to shutdown.

  • I hope its not a Prank

i mean it wont fuck up my system

  • worked for me.. windows xp.. thanks.....

  • @TOCORO100 :P

  • @TOCORO100 already on your computer

  • 200 is problematic...diskeeper can't close that fast and an error pops up saying c++ runtime error which in fact prolongs the shutdown time much more than it was supposed to make it less. i recommend to all who use diskeeper to put a 2000 value,so that the problem won't happen. overally, you've been helping me with my job on computers.god bless you pcwizkid :)

  • what do you record with

  • I'm no comp spec.. but its 20000 there for a reason. just to save your data before you shutdown.

shutdown speed is nothing.. startup speed is what we want.

  • vote up if you noticed that he always said "Press OK" in these videos

  • he is engineer computer tech

  • Does ti work on Windows 7 ?

  • mac os wallpaper.........the irony is just hilarious :)

  • haha

  • My shutdown time is 6 seconds MY SPECS

Windows XP Pro 32 bit SP3

    AMD Athlon II X2 245 Processor@2.9 GHz

    2GB DDR2 RAM

    Is that normal...

  • @0oDarkLordRevano0 yea thats normal

  • @lucmitchify kewl thanks☺

  • Thanks

  • the quickest way:

    pull the power lead out

it does not damage the pc

    It is a lie

  • @denslat1 no its not a lie... i've experience with it :(

  • @TheNulam

well then you suck, its never hurt my pc once

  • @denslat1 more than me vista sux.... i turned it when it wanted some shitty update it c*cked up my laptop...

  • You are so much help, I'm subscribing.

  • Thanks!

  • to make pc run more fast i had used reg in out registry cleaner it works for me very gud

  • cAN i DO LESS THAN 200

  • @raxiboy2050 MENU show delay u can change to from 400 to zero(my is 100) but the end PC wont run any faster just screen show faster (H-key current-user/control panal/destop), but this 1 i make 5000 still to fast to kill for me but you also change the same in H-Key-Cur/control panel//desktop aswell

  • I used this tweak then forgot about it once I reformatted and I noticed how much slower it was then Lol thanks again for the instructions to readd it :D

  • Man! this works even for VISTA! and it speeds it up! SO great How much can i thank you tell me maybe 1000000000000000 times man! thanks

Have a nice sunny hot ice cream day! LOL i am so happy

  • The worst of ubuntu meets windows ME on this desktop

  • @PCWizKid How come you have the Mac OS X Leopard Wallpaper?

  • What theme of windows is that???

  • what if you put 0

  • windows 7 will work too?

  • @acefilms2008 Yup

  • @acefilms2008 yes it might be slightly different but yes it will work

  • What if i write into the value "fucking fast" in letters ?

  • @atomkobold then it will be f***ing slow lol

  • @atomkobold LOL

  • @atomkobold LOL nice one

  • @atomkobold Either your computer will become FUCKING FAST or your computer will be FUCKING MESSED UP, I'm not entirely sure which.

  • @atomkobold no you have to put shut the fuck down.

  • @atomkobold It'll probably "Fuck up" Your PC.

  • Comment removed

  • @atomkobold don't do it

  • I used 100 and boy is it fast!

  • @GlitchesRule741 REALY ITS SO FASt?

  • @Merchergp1 on windows 7 professional it shuts down in a matter of 5-10 seconds where before i did the regestry edit it took 30-35 seconds

  • @Merchergp1 yeah man!

  • Man I have 256MB ram memory then changing to 200 would just kill all applications without giving enough time to close itself and I would lose all my data on them .

It would just show endless "End Now" windows for all opened applications !!

  • @xBessiBossManiAx

You need more RAM that's for sure. Check out datamemorysystems(dot)com to find out what type of RAM you need and how much your computer can hold. The RAM there is very cheap and shipping is free and very fast.

  • make on for windows 7

  • ohh this was where my teacher learn this shit

  • @farside041 LOL

  • what if i put 100-will i be ok?

  • Thanks

  • I know how to make it shut down really fast. Pull the plug out!

  • @MrCacat5 or it eventually won't run at all

  • I'd recommend changing it to 3000-5000 not 200 :\

  • Does this affect cache clearing? Should the value be determined on the CPU speed (assuming slower CPUs take longer to shut down other processes)? I can see a 3+ to 4 GHz CPU taking almost no time to stop running processes but should a 1GHz use something more like 500?

  • @Impellios This value is not processor-dependant.

  • I trust you but if my laptop gonna crash, my mom gonna kill me.

  • This could hurt your computer (it may have to run that hard drive check, but its ok). i still did it cuz it takes a while. (years) thanks though, helped me a lot!

  • Works with Windows 7 Ultimate

  • I changed it to 50 LOL its fast

  • what happens if i choose 0?

  • Does this tweak affect any file saving or any other possibly necessary shut down protocols?

  • @kidmedia Yes if you have it too short your services might shut down too soon and not have a chance to save their data.

  • Is this healthy for computer??????

  • @leafblowinSK8, if you do any of my registry tweaks wrong it can mess it up, so just follow the instructions like everyone else and they have been happy. If you mess up then its your fault.

  • in your videos how do you mkae firefox look like that

  • @PCWizKid hey, how do you costomize it like that?

  • @leafblowinSK8 it won't mess your computer up, the reason they have the timeout is to prevent loss of data when closing applications. So as long as you have already saved before shutting down, it won't matter.

... oh and watch out for applications that shut your computer down like Anti-Virus or CCleaner because that might cause loss of data then if an unexpected shutdown were to occor

  • @burnsy96 thx :D appreciate it

  • mine doesn't make a difference at all..maybe the waittokillapptimeout must be change also? please be more specific..

  • Works with Vista Home Premium also. Mine was at 20000 like his.

  • works with windows 7

  • The variable you edited is how long the computer will wait for a non-responding program to close. So I recommend you just stay with 200...someone get back to me with 100 or 0...if your THAT risky!

  • My WaitToKillService wasn't there.

Sooo I just made one and is that OKAY?

  • haha, don't think so

  • do ya know how to increase the approx memory of your video card(with the knowledge that it will allow you to do it)

  • @Dragonblade180 is this an integraded card?

  • my windows is not a string value..it is a DWORD value..how to change it to 100 = =W

    the value is 0x000003e8 (1000)

    anyone can help me?

  • I set mine to 100

  • how many secods is 200 ?

  • it's in ms(milliseconds) 1000ms is 1 second and 200 ms is 0,2second

  • wow really cool myn was at 500 so ill see how 200 works out

  • Thanks helped alot

  • does this work on vistA? the timeout defaults are 30000 (30 sec) not 20.

  • Tnx Dude. . All ur video's are aso usefull... 100% working!

  • Strange... Mine's default was 150.

  • For some reason the type of the registry is DWORD not SZ = /

  • It Won't Work my PC Is WIndows 95

and i also follow that Instructions But the run says could not find regedit and it says type the filename and try again

  • What if I set it to 400 what will happen?

  • it will probably take 4 seconds

  • mabe it comes to slow. Mines went like same shutdown time.

  • Is this safe?

  • Yes, I think so, nothing bad happened to me and my family, bwahahahahahha! : )

  • @alanpogi69 fucking retard

  • yes, but you need to warn people that some programs and services need more time to be shutted down properly

  • i cant edit the registry. why?

  • nvm, found out alr thx :)

  • You have to pay attetion carefully.

  • You may not be the Administrator of your PC, I think

  • Holy fuck, my shut down time is like 4 secs. I love you.

  • yuck! You love him!? He is a boy!

  • Yes well when something is happening and it's not good there tends to be negative outcomes

  • i would love to do this but if set it to 200 and a process ends to fast what happens?

  • nothing

  • nothing happens its just not good for your computer

  • we don't know yet you have to keep trying.

  • lol in the video was windows xp! xD

It was just a zune theme!

  • ROFL What 're you talking 'bout?

  • but... what does it do to the computer?

i can't imagine it does any good to it...

  • 200 is maybe a bit too little but really its just 20000 by default for safety reasons.. too make sure that no services end too fast, but really, it rarely is a problem to use a lower value.. i remember 2000.. Also in vista this is 20000 by default and setting to 2000 really really really makes it shut dwn faster.. in windows 7 the value is 2000 by default so i guess thats a safe number.

  • PCWizKid, will this work for Windows Vista-64 Ultimate???

  • yes, it will work at any windows: from xp, to vista to windows 7 (where the is already 2000 by default in windows 7)

thanks to redb0mine for this information

  • It does cuz I HAVE IT!!!

  • nice tutorial

  • if you put 0, what happens?

  • Dont put 0, stick to the values I recommended.

  • but what happens? :D

    does the computer crash?

does a albino penguin comes out of the pc and beats the crap out of you with a giant whale?

  • Comment removed

  • lol @ forsaken32 XD

but wtf? you delete his (silly) comment but don't answer my question? :(

  • @killeramn2000

It gave me the blue screen.. lucky system restore was thereee

  • @killeramn2000 It ends the services straight away without warning?

  • thanks alot

  • hmm dose effect only the shutting down time?

  • Yes, it affects the amount of time it takes to stop all the services.

  • dude your soo awesome lol

  • ahaha ima change my friends computer to like 1million lol

  • haha thats funny lol

  • @Tanimal97 shouldn't be a problem as long as the programs close eventually

  • Does XP need speed up. Isn't it faster than Vista. Vista would need one. Anyway, nice video.

  • owh... does the faster the pc shutdown is good? if it does, how much changes that you recommend?

  • NO! You must change in "4000".

  • why is it like that?... does changing by 4000 make it even faster or what?

  • In a computer-magazine standy, 1000 = 1 Second. When you change in "400", Windows will end software in 0,4 Seconds... *ls

  • your funny vbsripter.

  • I KNOW A FASTER WAY......You just pull the power chord in the back of the pc.

  • You sir, are win.

  • Epic Win :)

  • @vbsripter Better not be writing to disk when that happens.

  • @vbsripter if you do this your pc will run slower and slower !

  • @vbsripter LOL

  • @vbsripter

    HAHHA thats what i do

  • @vbsripter lmao

  • @vbsripter lmao!

  • how do you get the orange start button pcwizkid

  • Google search "Windows XP Zune theme"

  • works good

  • Works fine.

  • Does this work for vista?

  • isn't that bad for the comp?

  • well it will normally shut down problems in 20 seconds (20000 ms) and now in less, so if u have anything like word opened, it will close it within a second, so if you havent saved it, you have like 1/5th of a second to save it(200ms)

  • its not bad if u know how to edit the registry correctly

  • Thanks for all your tweaks videos! Really worked for me, and believe it or not, i free'd 25+ gigs from my hard drive! And now for the finale, i'm gonna shut down my pc! Let's see how fast it turns off! And thanks again!

  • what will happens if i change it to 0?

  • Doesn't work for Windows 7...

  • Of course not, I said this tip is for XP and Vista only not windows 7.

  • Well, I assumed if it was for Vista the same would go for 7..

  • I just tried it on Win7 beta and it worked fine. Win 7 beta now shuts down way faster than it did before i did this.

  • and vista don't lmao

  • it also has a WaitToKillAppTimeout do i put that to 200 also ?

  • Have you got it set to 200 or 1000?

  • he got it at 200

  • is there a WAY OF PERMALLTY DISABILNG MILTARY TIME IN THE RGESITRY?!

  • @drfreezepop do you want to change the date/time format or something?

  • I've seen recommenations on other reputable sites not to set this value lower than 5 seconds i.e. '5000' milliseconds.

  • Is this safe? Why did they set it so high?

  • so the windows programs have time to shut down.

  • does this also aply to vista

  • yes
