@FutureComputing Am I a fucking moron? Why, exactly? I saw that you pointed out my typo. That's funny, when you yourself can't distinguish "your" from "you're"
@lovetohate12 No, "talking british" isn't a typo, it's just fucking ridiculous. It's like me saying "talking american" or "talking european", it doesn't make any sense. I can distinguish between your and you're, I just made a typing error. Very different things. Moron.
@vasia48 I know, I'm British too, what i actually meant was that it must be difficult to play an fake version of an accent you have, because that is certainly not his actual English accent, it sounds like an American trying to do English :P :) x
terrible impression. auric goldfinger did not even own a cat. i do however watch House regularly. fine show. hey what happened to the pills ?people just dont get over an opiate addiction
People don't just get "over" any addiction...they're still addicts, they just avoid the substance. He went to rehab, got clean, dated cuddy, broke up with cuddy, now he's back on those delicious pain-relieiving candy.
It's a real cat. And there's a hilarious bit later in the episode where Hugh Laurie picks up the cat and it smacks him right in the face with its tail, and he just carries on with his lines. It's brilliant, one of my favourite episodes ever :D
could someone put up the part where house is in an mri talking with wilson "house this is god" then cuddy walks in and house says "quick god smite the evil witch"???
That was the most unexpected thing ever, I was rolling. I also loved his response to Cutty's ultimatum that the cat has to go in 24 hours, he asks "consecutively?" lol, how else would those 24 hours be counted??? LMAO!
That lame ass left without even playing dead in one episode so he can work for our spender in chief. He could have played dead so they didn't have to do the body half covered by the door jam thing... geez.
Indeed. But, if you read the post in which, that response was aimed, you will see that it had said, "...How much talent does it take to imitate an accent upon and already imitated accent?!" thus, my comment informing the poster, that the 'imitated' English accent was not actually imitated. =))
Ah well. Just saying. But, thank you for posting this, it is brilliant. =))
@OperaGhostess That's not the point. Imitating someone who is imitating something else (even if it's your native tounge) is something different entirely, and much harder to accomplish. Take for example where Apu (Simpsons) tries to be American. It's an American doing an Indian who is again trying to be American. :p
@Treblaine No, Goldfinger was played by Gert Fröbe, then dubbed by a Brit. Felix Leiter describes him as "He's British. But he doesn't sound like it."
@OperaGhostess That's what he was saying. He was saying it was impressive to see a British person imitate an American person imitating a British person.

Every James Bond fan knows that that is a terrible Goldfinger impersonation, even though it's done by Hugh Laurie!

@MissBenford
That is not the point.
The point is that Dr house sits cuddling with a black cat, smoking a cigar and talking british
(yes, I know that Hugh Laurie is british, but this is another type of accent than he speaks normally.)

Uses an American Accent for the show
Uses a British Accent over the American one for this scene
Accentception.

He's a British actor playing an American doctor who has to fake a British accent. Hugh Laurie, ftw.
