That's because the developer of Croc (Argonaut Games) went backrupt in 2004.

There will never be another Croc game. The copyrights to Croc are now in legal limbo, and would be a legal nightmare to develop a sequel for.

Yeah, Argonaut went bankrupt in 2004 after 30 years of operating, because they couldn't secure publishers for any of there projects. This happens to quite a few development studios.

Aurgonaut were one of the last remaining major British game developers aswell. =(
