  • Doodle tongue or super smooth double? LOVE the black bell, makes me want a Rath... nothing like a red plastic bell though ;)

  • EPIC FACE, EPIC FACE, EPIC FACE, jizz in my pants

  • hes got that feel to it,he has that stank

  • @bpede13 THANK YOU this man is a very good trombone player and these ppl are appaently not skilled at listening

  • favorite part of the dease story is how he didn't pick up a trombone until his junior year in high school - and this was only because he didn't think anyone else in his band program knew how to play trombone very well (he started on and still plays saxophone).

  • What kind of trombone is that? I don't think I've seen one like it.

  • @TheRobEarhart Rath - English tbn maker that is beginning to line up several of the world's best jazz 'bonists.

  • @TheRobEarhart RathTrombones cot com

  • why does youtube have to be full of amateur critics? listen to what he's playing. he's offering you a gift. accept it. don't argue about his tonguing or criticize embouchure (michael dease is one of the best trombone players IN THE WORLD..i think he's doing just fine). get over yourself and then maybe you'll find the JOY in music.

  • @bpede13 Well said!!!!

  • THANK GOD THIS ONE IS NOT OUT OF SYNC

  • black trombone...

  • @thingmongen Yes, Serge...

  • GREAT!!!!

  • The embachure doesn't seems quite perfect to me. It sounds like an amount of the air he's putting unto the trombone isn't being used to buzz.

  • @zegafregaomega

There's no such thing as a perfect ombrochure. For instance, I play better sax when the mouth piece is only EVER so slightly in my mouth. I've been instructed half an inch or so. However, if my tone is better like that, it's better like that. lol

  • @zegafregaomega First of all, you spelled embouchure wrong. Second, who are you to say? Can you play like him? If it works for him then who cares?

  • ba-ta-da is the tounging....

  • gotta love that brown lick at 2:44

  • Most pros use a combination of double and doodling depending on the phrase and style the piece calls for. The smoother longer lines are doodling, some of the pick ups and broken chords are double tounged. This guy is good!

  • que marca es el trombon ?????

  • @rubiet29 Rath, i think, judging from the "R" by the tuning slide.....

  • @rubiet29 Michael Rath (R4 or R3)

  • Rath (Michael) R4 or R3....

  • nice playing, trombone is cool to, I'd like to have the same one;)

  • Escuchen a bill watrous, carl fontana, frank rossolino.

  • @luigianguiani que tiene que ver Watrous, Fontana o Rosolino con Mike Dease?

  • Awesome playing! Some ideas about the articulation? Doodle or double tongue? THANX

  • @luckymanonearth good it's not just a lack of trombone playing knowledge, the guy is really good

  • @luckymanonearth soft double tonguing... da ga da ga da ga or some like that

  • @pedrosteve actualyl, this is still daradara; daga is for pitch changing

  • @kschiavo Michael told me that.

  • @pedrosteve

    Do-dle-dle-dle-dle

    Doodle tonguing.

  • @sweederlander haha alright man, think what you may, but Mike Dease told that he don't use the doodle tounguing to play fast lines....listen and open your ears

  • @pedrosteve

Yeah, you're right. His lines would sound a lot cleaner if he did use it.

  • i have never heard anyone play a Tbone like that.
