I just need to clarify a few things so people don't go and fuck up their beloved piercings. One is that you should never apply undiluted tea tree oil to a piercing. It should be 50/50 tea tree oil and water. It's so strong it can actually cause infection. Personally, I wouldn't use it on a new piercing that is still healing, the only thing you should ever use on a healing piercing is sterile saline. Also NEVER touch, twist, or replace a healing piercing. Just keep it clean and leave it alone.
@joshkidwell3 I applied it directly from the bottle, didn't cause infection or any problems, in fact, did the complete opposite! it wasn't new when I used the tea tree oil, i had had it for several months at that point. I also said do not do what i did and change it on your own. thanks for your concern though and thanks for watching!
Hello, I have one on the back of my ear that's relatively small but I'm still looking to get rid of it ASAP and this video has been extremely helpful! I see where you've said to use it 2x a day for 3+ weeks.... My only question is do i apply the oil directly on it? around it? in it?
@karinasrs2008 I'm not an expert so I cannot recommend to use it as a preventative. I would suggest following all of the rules that your piercer will give you! tea tree oil is a last resort!
well I have a cartilage bubble or bump on my ear and already bought tree tea oil but can you tell me how often and how long you're suppose to use it? or like how much to apply
@xsammajamma tea tree oil will burn your penis i learned this the hard way lol. made a video about it titled warning tea tree oil will burn your penis
@Rututu1991 Oh, goodness. Have you tried the aspirin paste or Apple Cider Vinegar? I'm really praying the tea tree oil will work for me so I don't have to move on to them. I've been using the tea tree oil mixed with my sea soaks. Good luck, and, thanks
DO NOT EAT THE OIL you will FUCKING DIE!....grab a spoon filled with oil and put in a cup or bowl, then diluted with 9 spoons of water, with 1 cotton ball soak it. and place it on your face. AVOIDE mouth and eyes. when you first aply it will tingle, dont be scared its normal. Use it once a day every day for one week. after a week if your skin is not having side affects keep using it the same way. DO NOT over aply or aply 2 much of the diluted oil on your face.
Thank you SOOO much for making this video. I am having similar problems with my nose piercing for the same reason as you did, I changed my jewelry after having my nose pierced for a month. I am super grateful, and really excited to try tea tree oil on it, since I'm terrified of having it get infected and leaving a huge scar. Thanks again!!!
I have a keloid right now on my nose, and it really seems like nothing is working. its sooo embarassing having this bump on my nose ): and so i just got tea tree oil after watching this video, and ive been putting it on for about two days now and i dont see any improvement, how long did it take for yours to heal or show any sign of it getting better?

@Rututu1991 Let me know if it worked for you, Rututu. I have the exact same problem with me tragus piercing. Six months, 2 months in it formed and refuses to get out of my life. I've been trying tea tree oil for about 3 days now. Here's to hoping!
@darkangelO1 hey, noo it didn't work for me. It just became more swollen and bump became bigger. My tragus is quite a bit better today, but when somebody accidentally touch it the bump raise again it's like never ending story. I know it's bad but I use rubbing alcohol and it helped me a bit. But it's not healed, and I see no healing progress and it will be a year when I pierced it. Hope your tragus get better :)
i got a nose piercing scar on my nose , and its dark and i really want it too go away , it is not a bump is just a flat normal scar , and in order for me too repierce the left side i want too get the scar of the right side , i have my bottom right lip pierced soo i took of the nose cause both piercings dnt look right on the same side so now tht i wanna get it on the left the scar wont leave -.- does tea tree oil helps take of the scar ? help please :/
Would you recommend this for a piercings that is still sore and wont move but no longer has a bump? please answer i have tried so much stuff and it's not worked so far....
This video is very helpful_^ I've just bought Tea Tree Oil but I don't know if it'll help reduce the redness on my face (burnt from an accident). So I'll give it a try :D
The oil obviously wont work for everyone and if u only do it for a couple of days then give up you arent going to get anywhere. I use tea tree oil and its not quite working yet but i am hopeful!!!
i always thought the bumps were just blood blisters. unfortunately i found a kinda painful way to get rid of them was by "popping" them. which, its a little bloody, but by doing that, using neosporin & saline solution, they disappeared and never came back.
I did basically the same thing with my nose. Except I changed mine early because I had bought some studs that I thought were pretty -.- Thankfully my nose is all cleared up now. Turned out that as soon as I put my original stud back in, it got better a lot quicker (I'm thinking that the jewelry wasn't very good quality).
Tea tree oil is toxic for humans too, just to let you know. It shouldn't be used for prolonged periods, and only in small quantities. The reason it gets rid of dermal problems is because its toxicity. And you probably know this already (at least I hope you do), but never ingest tea tree oil or use it on open wounds. It doesn't promote healing, people. ☮
@shanohu There's nothing wrong with it, tea tree oil is just very potent so for me, I was hesitant and I had tried everything else so it literally was a last resort!!
I've been googling everything about this because I got my tragus done maybe a couple months ago? And my bumps aren't getting any better. I haven't tried anything other than Dial soap & sea salt soaks because I know everything else is really bad for piercings since I've had so many. But almost all my piercings have gotten these bumps! But most healed, and others I just gave up on. But I refuse to take out my tragus. So do you recommend this for my tragus? And did you dilute it or anything?
@duckosaurr the same thing is going on with my tragus! i absolutely REFUSE to take it out, especially after buying forty bucks for it! this is my second video i've watched about tea tree oil on a tragus piercing and i'm going to buy some tomorrow and try it. i hope it works!
@Lust4Me10 3 months later, the bump is gone. i pretty much just left it alone and let it do it's thing. when you're in the shower just let the water run onto it and use regular dial soap (orange kind) and it will go away. I let it do it's own thing and the bump just went away.. it still hurts but at least it's not hideous anymore. haha
Wait why did you pick out your own stud? normally when you get it pierced they already have one, they just picked out the color. and I had that problem for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time it wouldnt go away. and if you take it out when its still there it wont go away. i got mine done when i was 16 and now im 19 so iv had mine for a long time, ill probably never take it out.
@CelticLove18 The place that I go to for piercings had tons of nose rings to choose from. They had different styles and sizes, but they were all 18 gauge.
thank you so much - this sounds exactly like what happened to me. i got my cartilage pierced and then changed the piercing to a hoop only 2 weeks after. Now after like a year, I finally took it out because of a keloid building in the back. The hole closed up and now theres an unsightly HUGE bump there. I can't wait to try this teatree oil! thankyou
I got my belly button pierced and the same thing happened, I recently got it repierced and the keloid is still there, but it's small. I'm going to def use this once the piercing is completely healed, but I'm not sure if it will affect the new piercing?
I've had keloids all over since I was a kid. I've definitely had them removed, also had injections (which were working, but HURT!)... I use tea tree oil for a lot of things, but never thought to use it for my keloids. Awesome! Thank you for this video :)
Thank you so much! I have a rook piercing and i've had a keloid on the top of the piercing for a while, and then just a few minutes ago another one showed up at the bottom of the piercing. I'm going to try this... and if it doesnt work, i will cry.
My sister pierced the top of my ear for me like three years ago and it stayed infected, and I got one of those keloid scars and so I took my earring out and I have had this bump on my ear for years! I have tried everything and some stuff would help but it wouldnt go all the way away. So I'm definatly gonna try this!
What of bumps insid the nose? My sister says she has a bump inside her nose from her piercing? Should you do it for that too?
I had a bump insid from mine but it went down but it seems that i have a keloid on the outside of my piercing. it looks like a pimple (cuz it gets a whit head) but after popping it nothing really happens. I really dont want it permanently on my nose and I was gonna take it but I think i will try this oil I pray it works Unless u mayb think otherwise?
oh my goddd i have bumps on my peircing and they've been there for MONTHS, this was so helpful girl you don't even know haha i'm gonna have to go try it out. thank youuu <3
OH MY GOD! this stuff is amaizing i noticed my cartilage piercing getting a bump and i was looking on here on youtube and i came across ur video and so i decided to try the tea tree oil...i kid you not...i saw a big difference in like 2-3 hrs...this is the second day of me using it and the bump has reduced by alot thanks a lot for posting this up :D and it kinda smells like pine-sol mixed with dirt :/ lol
thanks so much for uploading this!! im going to the store right now to pick some up. I have an annoying bump on my ear thats been there for months and i cant get rid of it. hope this works. =)
@xsammajamma i just bought the body shop tea tree oil today ....i need your advice cuz there isn't any detailed instruction on the bottle except for "apply directly to skin"...help me please!.. i .have no clue how to use it...do i use the tea tree oil before i apply my daily moisturizer(in the morning) or do i use it after?????
if before, do i have to wait for a few minutes(to let it dry and absorb into the skin) before i apply my daily moisturizer?
@xsammajamma you should always dilute it; it's quite irritating otherwise; a lot of people (probably most) can't handle raw tea tree oil all that well. Tea tree oil is actually slightly poisonous, but the bugs hate it much more than human skin does. If you dilute it, your skin can handle it, but the bugs can't. It diutes well in some sort of oil. Dilute it down to say 10% strength (1 teaspoon of tea tree oil in 10 teaspoons of oil or cream).
@JBOT168 when i first starting using tea tree oil i diluted mine first with some purified water. without the water i found that it stung a bit. i just kinda diluted it less and less until i got used to it
eveeryone listen!! im only fifteen and iv had a keloid for 3 years its the size of a small bead and iv benn hearing that tree oil works so i gave it a try it wanly 9 bucks, iv been a week and its starting to dry up and flatten soon it will be gone this works!
thanks for the info i am currently using it but i didnt know if i should stop because its been 2 wks and i dont see any difference.. also after its gone is it likely that it would come back? do u still have continue to put tea tree oil?
I started using tea tree oil on my nose piercing last night. I got my nose pierced about 4 weeks ago,& i got it caught on a cloth when drying my face.It tore a little & thats when my troubles began.
I was using boiled water and sea salt on it previously, but after the tear it started to get this ugly bump,i thought it was infected, but now i think it could be a keloid. So hopefuly tea tree oil works for me. The piercer never even told me about these things. Fingers crossed!
your piercing artist is not helpfull at all, mine are so sweet and you can always come back for advise or treatment or to get sea salt . They always take the time to chat and make you feel comfortable
@rebelsbeautycorner Oh mine are extremely helpful but the one person that was there when I went to get it changed out was someone I had never seen before and I haven't seen him since!
@xsammajamma thank god, I cant stand bad custumer service. I've had a couple piercings done in a place were one time they put in the wrong piercing because of miscumunication and another time they kept staring at me when i was looking at juwerly when I had planned on bying a lot off it. But she was in such a hurry to get me out of the store that i didn't even buy it all.
hi im getting surgery[removing HUGE keloid] + radiotheraphy in a few months and i wanted to know if it is ok to put undiluted tea tree oil on the stitches the same day?.i heard that it can go on cuts but im not sure if that applies to stitches......doctors dont seem to know stuff about natural remedies so i dont want to ask them.
heyyy i'm not a doctor so i would ask your doctor!! I would hate to give you an opinion when i have no medial knowledge other than my own experience with tea tree oil but if it were me i wouldn't put the tea tree oil on it before asking!! good luck with the surgery though and listen to your doctor!
omg that is how i feel.. i put neosporin too but it seems not to work.. and really i dnt want o take it off, and i got it a month ago.. just one question.. was ur bump inside ur nose too? bc mine is a little on the outside.. and bigger on the inside
@dippedbaby yep!! i actually ended up taking my nose ring out about a year later because i didnt like it anymore but the bump completely went away after about a month of using tea tree oil
I just wanted to know... how would i incorporate the tea tree oil into my dailty nose piercing cleaning? would I take a shower, do a sea salt soak, and then put the oil on ky nose? Please let me know! thank you.
Thank You! I watched your video and had exactly the same thing, so i brought some Tea Tree Oil, and its nearly gone now, Very happy because it looked vile, Thanks a lot! :D x
Just a quick question : ), I have a bump next to my nose piercing and I think it is a keloid. But, it keeps growing and then it would pops, but it keeps coming back. Is this what happened to you? I can't wait to try it, I am so embarrassed about it.
@FrankenteenChic I'm not a doctor so I can't be sure, but I would definitely try Tea Tree Oil, it can't hurt to try it! Good luck and let me know how it goes!
it sounds like something similar happened to me! i had a huge bump/infection on my nostril piercing; it lasted about 2-3 months. i just want to point out that undiluted tea tree oil is very potent and certainly not for everybody (nor are all "bumps" actual "keloids"). consult your piercer! for me, an aggressive chamomile tea bag routine (3X a day) cleared up my infection. when i tried leaving TTO on my bump, it became really irritated and bloody, making the whole healing process even harder.
@roseinthepages yikes! An infection is much more serious than a keloid because it's an open wound...so yea, Tea Tree Oil would be much too harsh for that!
im using tea tree oil right now on my nose bump and its working ! but once your bump was gone how long did u wait to change your ring/did it cause you to get another bump? if you even changed it right after, PLEASE let me know!
@KeelyyyRae mine went after treated with tea oil, i then changed it and it came back :( leaving this one in now.Hopefully be ok. I would leave it in for a few months after its healed xx
@KeelyyyRae i have the same nose bump problem, so tea tree oil really works ? if it does should i mix it with anyhting to dilute it or just apply a little bit?
I just need to clarify a few things so people don't go and fuck up their beloved piercings. One is that you should never apply undiluted tea tree oil to a piercing. The oil obviously wont work for everyone and if u only do it for a couple of days then give up you arent going to get anywhere. I use tea tree oil and its not quite working yet but i am hopeful!!!

i always thought the bumps were just blood blisters. unfortunately i found a kinda painful way to get rid of them was by "popping" them. which, its a little bloody, but by doing that, using neosporin & saline solution, they disappeared and never came back.
orangesecret 8 months ago
@orangesecret you're lucky. that would normally spell disaster.
sidereally 7 months ago
@sidereally oh i know, now that i know what they are, i'm so glad my idiotic way of getting rid of them didn't do damage.
orangesecret 7 months ago

And did you dilute it or anything?
duckosaurr 8 months ago
@duckosaurr Yes try tea tree oil! i didn't dilute it, I just applied it directly to the piercing
xsammajamma 8 months ago
@duckosaurr the same thing is going on with my tragus! i absolutely REFUSE to take it out, especially after buying forty bucks for it! this is my second video i've watched about tea tree oil on a tragus piercing and i'm going to buy some tomorrow and try it. i hope it works!
Lust4Me10 6 months ago
@Lust4Me10 3 months later, the bump is gone. i pretty much just left it alone and let it do it's thing. when you're in the shower just let the water run onto it and use regular dial soap (orange kind) and it will go away. I let it do it's own thing and the bump just went away.. it still hurts but at least it's not hideous anymore. haha
duckosaurr 6 months ago
Wait why did you pick out your own stud? normally when you get it pierced they already have one, they just picked out the color. and I had that problem for a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time it wouldnt go away. and if you take it out when its still there it wont go away. i got mine done when i was 16 and now im 19 so iv had mine for a long time, ill probably never take it out.

@CelticLove18 The place that I go to for piercings had tons of nose rings to choose from. They had different styles and sizes, but they were all 18 gauge.

@mynameisnotsabrina how long did you use it for? did you use it every day 2 times a day for 3+ weeks?
xsammajamma 8 months ago
thank you so much - this sounds exactly like what happened to me. i got my cartilage pierced and then changed the piercing to a hoop only 2 weeks after. Now after like a year, I finally took it out because of a keloid building in the back. The hole closed up and now theres an unsightly HUGE bump there. I can't wait to try this teatree oil! thankyou
itsnikhita 9 months ago
I got my belly button pierced and the same thing happened, I recently got it repierced and the keloid is still there, but it's small. I'm going to def use this once the piercing is completely healed, but I'm not sure if it will affect the new piercing?
loveisanemptycup 9 months ago
I've had keloids all over since I was a kid. I've definitely had them removed, also had injections (which were working, but HURT!)... I use tea tree oil for a lot of things, but never thought to use it for my keloids. Awesome! Thank you for this video :)

My sister pierced the top of my ear for me like three years ago and it stayed infected, and I got one of those keloid scars and so I took my earring out and I have had this bump on my ear for years! I have tried everything and some stuff would help but it wouldnt go all the way away. So I'm definatly gonna try this!
SarahElaine93 10 months ago
Tea tree oil is great for dozens and dozens of things. Every household should have a little bottle in the medicine cabinet.
Google "tea tree oil" for all its uses and benefits. Amazing stuff !
cheeriosinabowl 10 months ago
So just a drop?
What of bumps insid the nose? My sister says she has a bump inside her nose from her piercing? Should you do it for that too?
I had a bump insid from mine but it went down but it seems that i have a keloid on the outside of my piercing. it looks like a pimple (cuz it gets a whit head) but after popping it nothing really happens. I really dont want it permanently on my nose and I was gonna take it but I think i will try this oil I pray it works Unless u mayb think otherwise?

hi there! did you just place a drop on it? or did you dilute it first?
JBOT168 1 year ago
@JBOT168 I didn't dilute it, just put it straight on
xsammajamma 11 months ago
@xsammajamma you should always dilute it; it's quite irritating otherwise; a lot of people (probably most) can't handle raw tea tree oil all that well. Tea tree oil is actually slightly poisonous, but the bugs hate it much more than human skin does. If you dilute it, your skin can handle it, but the bugs can't. It diutes well in some sort of oil. Dilute it down to say 10% strength (1 teaspoon of tea tree oil in 10 teaspoons of oil or cream).
wolfekeeper 11 months ago
@JBOT168 when i first starting using tea tree oil i diluted mine first with some purified water. without the water i found that it stung a bit. i just kinda diluted it less and less until i got used to it

Fingers crossed!

hi im getting surgery[removing HUGE keloid] + radiotheraphy in a few months and i wanted to know if it is ok to put undiluted tea tree oil on the stitches the same day?.i heard that it can go on cuts but im not sure if that applies to stitches......doctors dont seem to know stuff about natural remedies so i dont want to ask them.

@cherri7
heyyy i'm not a doctor so i would ask your doctor!! I would hate to give you an opinion when i have no medial knowledge other than my own experience with tea tree oil but if it were me i wouldn't put the tea tree oil on it before asking!! good luck with the surgery though and listen to your doctor!

Just a quick question : ), I have a bump next to my nose piercing and I think it is a keloid. But, it keeps growing and then it would pops, but it keeps coming back. Is this what happened to you? I can't wait to try it, I am so embarrassed about it.
Thanks : )
FrankenteenChic 1 year ago
@FrankenteenChic I'm not a doctor so I can't be sure, but I would definitely try Tea Tree Oil, it can't hurt to try it! Good luck and let me know how it goes!
xsammajamma 1 year ago
it sounds like something similar happened to me! i had a huge bump/infection on my nostril piercing; it lasted about 2-3 months. i just want to point out that undiluted tea tree oil is very potent and certainly not for everybody (nor are all "bumps" actual "keloids"). consult your piercer! for me, an aggressive chamomile tea bag routine (3X a day) cleared up my infection. when i tried leaving TTO on my bump, it became really irritated and bloody, making the whole healing process even harder.
roseinthepages 1 year ago
@roseinthepages yikes! An infection is much more serious than a keloid because it's an open wound...so yea, Tea Tree Oil would be much too harsh for that!
xsammajamma 1 year ago
im using tea tree oil right now on my nose bump and its working ! but once your bump was gone how long did u wait to change your ring/did it cause you to get another bump? if you even changed it right after, PLEASE let me know!
