Just so everyone knows, the close-ups of Spike's eye like @ 2:09 are purposefully of his left eye because (as explained at 4:38 his right eye is a fake. His fake eye sees the present because that's all it can do. It's technology and the future. It's all the ships and the guns and the glamour. But his real eye sees only the past, and to his death, all he ever really saw was the past. Spike is more alive than most, but a large part of him died with Julia. As long as that eye sees, he can't live.
I only recently realized that Jet's story is actually a retelling of a short story by Ernest Hemingway, titled, "The Snows of Kilimanjaro." Not only the best anime ever, but random literary references as well? Bebop never ceases to amaze me.
@bubblemonkey42 So thats where it came from. I new it was a retelling of a story but i didn't know who wrote it in the first place. i do believe that spikes tiger striped cat story is from a old japanese story. And again i don't know who wrote it or the name of the story. sorry
@whatblack2284 HYAKUMANKAI IKITA NEKO - ("The Cat Who Lived a Million Times") :D its a popular history, so i dont know if has a person who wrote it, but is awesome :D, look it in google
Best compilation of the stories told in bebop that I've seen on youtube. More people would be able to find it if you spelled "tiger" correctly in the title.
@jozeksalvo77 thanks for the spelling i see that now. how ever i rushed to put it up and can't find a way to change the title. And being dyslexic doesn't help any ether.... yes i had to look that one up. the really sad part is my computer i had the vid on crapped out and I'm left with this as my only copy and no way to re upload it.
that's one of the reasons i placed them here. people that have watched the series would know and get a feeling for the pain attached to the stories. even if they don't under stand the hole story by its self.
Fail. The English version does not only have a higher-quality sound mix, it also delivers some fine voice-overs that really fits the American feeling and themes that runs through the entire series (even the music!).
I was surprised, honestly. I listen to the original language in 99% of the cases otherwise.
this is great..... the tiger stripped cat story is the one thing i can relate my life to. glad to see someone posted it up and actually added the greatest moments of the last episodes (aside from the over used "bang" scene) all together.

Bebop has to be one of the finest modern literary and cinematic examples to date. Great stuff.

I always felt that no one ever appreciated Jet's story as much as Spike's. Thanks for the change of heart.
