i got one of these. we think it needs a new coil. It is in pretty good shape. Not sure what year it is, but we are gonna try to get it running. also needs a clutch cable

I have a '77 converted to a flat tracker. Disk rear brake, monoshock, Goodyear slicks, really not a bad bike. But with 7:1 compression and no power valve it is quite sluggish LOL

Very cool, I just got a 78 dt 250 few weeks ago, it needs new rings from the sound of it, but ive put about 200 trouble free road miles on it so far. I love the 2 stroke powerband

yz 250 cylinders will bolt on evidently, of course with piston exhaust, carb etc.

The rod may need replacing if the little end is the wrong size.

these bikes have a pretty good top speed if u change the gearing on it for less top speed more power it will go well im puttin a 73 dt250 motor in my 84 cr125 and am running all the gear sizes from my cr125 should go pretty good now its out right now getting the motor fitted then its off to some exhasute place to have a exhasute fitted for it bike should go good the 73s come stock with 21 hp and do 140km not bad what years yurs

i just picked up one its a 1972 or 3 dt250 i only payed 300 for it and its got all new crank bearings seals and gaskets it starts right up but runs a lil ruff cuz the carb needs to be ajusted but il have that fixed tomorrow i only picked up the bike yesterday

yeah mine was runnning pretty bad so i took apart the top end...found out that it needed to be bored...so now my cylinder is at the shop and i cant find a piston for it

cant u get over sized rings?if not u may have to find a piston like one off an old 250 or w.e i had a 1984 kx80 and i put in a kx80 piston from like a 2000 and somthen model kx and it went realy well and gave me no problems.did u check ebay.

Oversized piston and rings are everywhere, it's the standard piston and rings im having trouble finding at not a rediculous price.

the speedo goes to 100 ive had it pasted 100 bouncing off the speedo limiter, but. it wasnt actually 100. the speedo is wickid off haha.
