  • What's her name? I've seen her interviewed before.

  • Thumbs up!

@mirrodriguez they might be christians, atheists or muslims who just don't want to wear a veil.

  • Maybe, tropdars, that means religion is a non-issue here, and only ignorant people and allies of Mubarak bring it up

  • @mirrodriguez Just shut the fuck up and die.

I am curious because she is not wearing a hijab or a burka. In the news coverage, I have seen some Egyptian women wearing head coverings of various types and some women dressed like westerners. I want to know if it's because they're christian, atheist, or non-observant muslims.

  • @tropdars Nawal as Saadawi was the lady who burned the borka long ago and fought and obtained the right for women in egypt NOT toe wear it if they dont want to

  • Nawal Saadawi was the woman who fought for womens rights and burned the burka in the streets of cairo long ago

  • A truly amazing woman!

  • Is she a Christian Egyptian or something?

  • @tropdars She's just Egyptian.

  • @FlintF Thanks for providing a non-answer. If you don't know, then shut up and go kill yourself.

  • @tropdars It's not a non-answer, on the contrary. Problem is, you're too busy being rude, otherwise you would be able to read between the lines. So instead of using your time to insult people, you could maybe, just maybe, apply it on a Google search.

  • @tropdars Maybe it means religion is a non-issue and only allies of Mubarak and ignorant people bring it up

  • @tropdars What is that supposed to mean, she is an Egyptian human being.

  • what a legend!

  • She's a walking legend. :)

  • she is fantastic!

  • Respect, admiration, fascination are words that can't express my feelings towards this woman!!

  • She is quite astonishing, she was required reading in my World Literature class.

  • She is so beautiful.

  • Keep the fight but DON T FORGET POOR PEOPLE. SOLIDARITY Egyptian, Solidarity !

    Tunisian citizen.

  • Okay, she's brave that she's 80 and came out...so did Iranian octogenarian women...however, she says this is bad, that is bad...who IS good? What is she calling for? Why not say WHO is the answer...and WHAT is the method to improve the situation?

  • Nawal I love youuuuuuuuuuuu XoX

  • There's no such thing as Pro- and anti-Mubarak.... there's only Pro-democracy vast majority versus the paid thugs or 'baltageya' hired by the Mubarak regime and the ruling business elite who run the ruling National Democratic Party. I love Dr. Manal....truely a beacon of wisdom..
