noel is so sincere and down to earth. sure he may have been a huge druggie and have one of the dirtiest mouths i can remember, but he means what he says and he is genuine and not a faker
Parkinson is great and Noel is a great subject. Wish there were more interview shows like this where they dispense with all the rest and get down to good conversation.
The Priory part is just spot on , Only he could come out n say things like he does , Yes hes a cock sometimes but aint we all ???? , Least the bloke stands for what he believes in and come out and say it in the way he does , Always a Legend in eyes !!
I friggin love the fact that he and Liam did tons and tons of drugs which are physically addictive and one day were just like alright then that's enough of that. Epic Badass.
i come back to this time and time again. Not sure about the 'genius' tag but it's definitely the most enjoyable interview I've ever seen with a rock star type displaying a formidable intelligence and wit. Full marks to Parky, too. Many thanks - again!
Watching this interview and Noels pure balls out "fucking get on with it" attitude makes me feel lucky to have been a teenager in Britain in the 90's. Inspired amazing amount of confidence in so many folk back then...real Ambassador of The Human Spirit.
He's the good one out of the too, he talks, sings, plays guitar, looks and is just generally better than Liam, Shame he's a Man City Supporter though.....
i dont like noel as a person... to casual.. hes not very funny he tries very hard... good artist.. can be a sham of a 'rockstar' this interview shows what hes really like
@dannyboyemo i dont think their songs copy the beatles, they were just inspired by them.and he doesnt seem to be trying hard at all.even if he is at least he's succeeding.they can be somewhat controversial though (liam more so) but they are at least hilariously witty.in my opinion.
When I first read and heard what Noel said, I thought he was rude and arrogant, but after this interview I had grown a renewed amount of respect for this guy. He is just an ordinary Mancunian with an ordinary working class background but with an extraordinary musical talent. He is and would always been an idol atleast, to me.
It's also because no one today has anything intresting to say. What would they say oh I had this song written for me I used auto tune and now it's a shampoo advert
I agree. I wish American rockers were this cool and forthcoming, He is a really good guy, unlike that mess Liam. Noel seems sincere and has a good sense of who he is
Yeah he sure as hell is. A little bit old now though, but for his age he sure got something about him. Just like Liam. But I respect Noel more, he's intelligent and I love his no-nonsense attitude. This is a great interview.
I like him because he's honest and sincere. What you see is what you get. I am tired of celebrities trying to pretend to be what they're not, and being so politically correct about everything. Noel is a real breath of fresh air, full of wisdom and humour. And, though some may call him arrogant, he's actually quite self-effacing, which is the ultimate show of being comfortable with who you are. He's a special human being.
Yes, it affected his way of thinking. Why do you think he is so sincere? Why they are so arrogant? But it's okay, they found a nice way to hide it. I love their life expierence. Nobody could have ever taken noel's way. He is a lucky man and his father now wishes to have a gun by his side to kill himself.
@jandy16 well.... of course it has... but hold on nopt in a bad way... its has given him l;ots and lots of character, and as u heard hijm say he doesnt dweel on it which is what u are not suppposed to do. he looked after himself he bacame striong and independent. thats how its shaped his psyche and he knows it he just didnt say that ;).
noel has always told of how he feels inarticulate. song titles like d'you know what i mean? and from don't go away, 'damn my education, i can't find the words to say, all the things caught in my mind.' there are more too. one of the things that parky was getting at when he asked about his dad beating him and how it caused a him to develop a stammer. i am from the very same street in burnage that the gallaghers grew up on. i am immensely proud of them and shall always love them
So....when Noel says that Kids his age In Burnage were regularly beaten by their fathers is this a true or fair comment of that era? He says that his life as a kid & teenager wasn't any different to other kids he hung around with.....
Parkinson is the best interviewer Britain has ever had, he connects with people and gets the best out of them. No one will EVER get more out of Noel Gallagher than Michael Parkinson.
it must've been really hard in his childhood time..guess thats what makes of who you are. noel is really a god damn hardworking person to play a guitar for a living back then. he deserves the rock n roll status.
This interview shows why parkinson is the master of his craft. I have seen many noel interviews and they are all just so casual and silly. Here parky probes him so carefully he opens up so much and the interview is so deep. I have never seen noel so serious and sincere and it shows underneath all the rock and roll image, is quite a sincere man. Only parky can do that and strip a celebrity in this manner. He made the interview an art form and off course in between the drama the laughs still come
@texaspete66 You are dead right, absolutely spot on.
But you know what almost brings me to tears? The fact that all broadcasters are moving away from this sort of intimate, involving connection between interviewer and guest and towards superficial soundbites and silly promotional rehearsed snippets.
@texaspete66 I totally agree. I also think that if the interview was conducted by anyone other than Parky that Noel wouldn't have been so tolerant of such personal questions or so candid with his answers.
I love noel. The way he talks about life and music is fascinating and realistic. Its not often you find a realistic down to earth musician like him. Genius
