  • Wouldn't it be easier and more precise to do this in post?

  • thanks

  • You can do this in almost every movie editor in existence. Why would I overpay by $500 for the ability to do something anything else can do.

For the record, I'm not a mac user nor a PC user. I use Linux. I'm just saying, the point you're making is a terrible one.

  • Can you still download iMovie_HD_6 at the apple website? because I just wanna know incase if I loose my original iMovie HD 6.

  • I want iMovie but I has no mac. :P

  • i know this is a stupid question but would imovie work on an xp computer if i downloaded it ? =)

  • Nope. iMovie and the rest of iLIfe are all Mac OS X only.

  • no...... 100 frame camera is for putting more frame in less time, time lap is for putting less frame in more time. so 1 frame for every 30 frame means that instead of u getting 30 frame out of the footage, u'll only get 1. which is good for the purpose that u are using.

  • I am sure emeek likes to wait a hour to import video while windows movie maker will be done in seconds.

  • Macs never fail

    macfixitforumsDOTcom

    MacfixitDOTcom

  • wtf. Way to skippy

  • READ DESCRIPTION

  • The new Windows Movie Maker can do that... it's free and will be released for XP Vista and 7.

  • iMovie '06 is a very old version... when you want to compare, compare iMovie '09 with Windows Movie Maker :) Or, if you want to go professional, Final Cut Studio 2... but that one does not come for free with a Mac, iMovie '09 obviously does...

  • The new Windows Movie Maker doesn't look like it'll end up being as good as iMovie 09(as good as last version without some of the smug-amplifying effects), but they're both pretty worthless since I use Premiere(meh) and Vegas(god-tier).

    Final Cut is overrated.

  • hehe Guy did you ever look at imovie 08? Was a bit of fail that upset me, hoping to get 09 soon =]

  • sony vegas for the win :D

  • over imovie 06? Of course it does.

  • no, over everything xD

  • pffffttt.... adobe premiere and after effects cs4 :P

    imovie bloows monkies

  • is that for windows?

I'm looking for something like iMovie for Windows.

  • yes; it's for windows and mac. adobe premiere is very good; you don't need more after trhat. go to the adobe website

  • Gratz imovie HD is free aswell xD

  • Emeek is the worst that ever happened to Apple on YouTube. He thinks he's doing Apple a favor and yes, maybe some buy a Mac after listening to him, but at the same time he also turns a lot more people away from Macs for a long time. Apple makes good products, and you should promote them by showing what they can do and not by putting the competition down. It's like with music...If you're an artist/singer you try to perform better than anyone else, you don't go bashing fellow artists to gain fans.

  • I agree

  • cool.

  • erik, are you retarded. windows can do this....

  • dot tlk crp abut eric he iz way smater thn u win fag

    lmao pwned

  • dot tlk crp abut eric he iz way smater thn u win fag

    lmao pwned - Emeek774ever

Shut up Theuden08... you act retarded.

  • dis aint no uden win fag

    lmao owned

  • you sir, need to get a life.

  • lif? I r breting arnt i?

  • socially speaking, you seem to have been dead for years.

  • "dot tlk crp abut eric he iz way smater thn u win fag"

And he calls the other person retarded... yawn

  • not this easily, it can't...moron

  • Windows can't do this easily or out of the box.

  • A) windows movie maker can do speed up, and slow motion.

    B) The argument is, "Lets see windows do this..." and it can, just as easily as osx in sony vegas.

  • The fact that you bring up Sony Vegas points to the miserable experience with WMM.

And Vegas costs well over $100! This must be the hidden cost of owning a PC. With the mac, movie suites are included or greatly discounted.

  • sony vegas movie studio is 50 bucks....

and the "hidden price" with pc is significantly less than the overpriced hardware of macs

  • Well you keep paying that money for your little add-ons and see how it adds up to more than the extra cost of a mac.

  • with a mac, you pay more for less. pc is way ahead as far as hardware goes and their cheaper. my pc cost much less than emeeks and it beats every benchmark he's ever posted.

  • Macs dont need as much to run better

  • a pc with linux will run faster than a mac with better hardware.

  • Fucking lie.

  • i like them both, but for laptop i prefer a macbook. i like windows on my main desktop for games and stuff.

  • i agree completely.

  • Oh, I have a question too (ya rly). Can you record at 2 frames (or more) for every 1 second within iMovie HD? Which is filming in slow motion. Allowing you to see very fast things happen slowly, like the old hummingbird and water droplet videos. My experience with 06/HD is small, so I really have no clue, curious if its powerful enough to do that.

  • Zenn3k needs to get on Steam because I added him.

  • 1 frame for every 10 frames, is 10 times speed, or 10 times faster. From what I counted (also using time stamp) you recorded about 20 seconds, the final video playback was 2 seconds in length, aka, 10 times speed.

  • Wow that was one of the most ignorant statements I have ever heard...

  • fuk uuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!!

    lmao pwned

  • And yet you still can't spell

  • iMovie 8 is kinda crappy compared to the previous versons... but i didn't know bout Time lapse.

  • OS X!

  • Yeah iMovie is a good app... Didn't know about the time lapse thanks for the video.

  • wtf man, dats da kind of attitude i get for actually sayin good on u, cuz u have a point. Fagg get ur facts rite

  • this would be cool for home surveillance

  • I hope for Emeek77 that Jobs never watches his videos....

  • He stopped making tutorials...now it's all about Pc vs Apple... it seems he's getting owned a lot lately that he has the need to make so many PC vs Mac videos...

  • He's addicted....seriously, I don't think he can stop at any time... when I'm 75 and have my grandchildren on my lap I will still seeing him making these kind of videos...I'm 100% sure of that lol

  • lmaoo, woahh step back:P good on u:P:P:P:P

  • ...and that's the kind of nonsense 14 year olds come up with...sigh

  • He's been uploading his tutorials on his other account AppleShakeGuru.

  • Oh my God, he created a dedicated account to Windows bashing? lol ....yeah ...addicted... my grandchildren will ask me many years from now who that bold old angry guy is on YouTube3D who is bashing Window...

  • Isn't that called a video?

  • i have tried some timelapse/stopmotion software and i highly recomend iStopMotion it's $50 and there is only a 5 day test period but its a very good app.

  • Like the time-lapse work. Glad to see tut's again. Anyways, I have a response with my lapse, enjoy!

  • this is great. so cool! thanks emeek.

  • you are so cool, you are a fucking apple god

  • where did you get the background?

  • Another failed title on another failed video

  • I thought you were going to do your tutorials on AppleShakeGuru? This was just a lame attempt to make MVP viewers watch one of your lame tutorials.

  • This is any easy way to do some kind of timelapse. But you're using a web cam. No one I know of that shoots videos (and I'm not talking about web videos) uses a web cam. This isn't really helpful to most people.

  • he is just showing how to do it, u can use any camera you want.. this feature is not limited to the built in webcam.

  • WMM can do time lapse, however it's done in editing, which it should be so you can speed up or slow down certain areas of the video. It maybe easier to do in iMovie, but given that WMM is free it does the job. The new WMM beta sucks with features, but I'm liking the layout (GUI) of it. I hope they will put more time into it.

  • Actually this is done very easily in Windows movie maker. There is an article about this with even a video at the bottom demonstrating

    tucows(dot)com/article/2058

  • that article is not really about the same thing,

its about capturing all the frames with a digital still camera and then import the photos to movie maker. its not the same thing as letting the software capture every frame straight onto the computer.

  • cancer stick

  • This is a good tutorial except the title makes it suck. That's like me showing an overclock of Windows graphics and saying "let's see a Mac display stuff on a monitor."

  • Despite my comment in your previous video, thank you for this tutorial. I didn't know I could do that. Good tut.

  • Cool tutorial but generally speaking time lapse relies more on the camera than on the software. It makes sense for Apple to have this feature in iMovie since most of their computers/monitors have the web/iSight cameras built in to them.

  • SONY VEGAS ISNT INCLUDED ON EVERY MAC. This is an apple solution man, not third. Its apple knowing what its customers want and givingit to us. And speeding up the video isnt time lapse. Id it isnt called time lapse than its not time lapse like Im thinking.

  • This isn't a matter of OSX or Windows being able to do this. You can do this on any OS. This is a matter of what software can do this. I can do this and have done this in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premeir Pro, After Effects, Combustion and many others.

  • i guess you miss the point? ilife comes with every mac free and just costs 79 bucks to buy. Youll not find a cheaper solution anywhere and youll have to go third party. This is another way of Apple knowing what people want and giving it to us.

  • Um..yeah. There's something called torrenting. I'm pretty sure you've used that before.

  • Search for tilaphos it's free they even have a youtube channel with examples. I'm sure there are more but that was the first result after a minute or two of looking. I can't imagine most people really caring about making time lapse videos even then.

  • Yeah you can. Torrenting? I think you might have heard of it.

  • Eric are you saying this can't be done on Windows? Just search "time lapse movie maker" on youtube.

  • Didi I say It couldnt be done? In my description I said I DINT KNOW IF MOVIE MAKER COULD. And I guarantee its not this easy, lol. In fact I bet its nothing but a hassle and the results suck.

  • Acutally it isn't that bad but it limits you to 0.125 duration or an 8th of a FPS as the lowest you can go. The results are better than expected as well but in the end WMM doesn't really have same amount of available options as iMovie HD.

  • But you also said that a pc(windows) can't do it very easily.

  • "Mac vs PC: Let's see Windows do this......Time Lapse Tutorial"

  • good video!

  • Eric could i like put a video request in and pay you?

  • what do you mean?

  • LMAO

  • LMAO

  • Nice video eric never done this before but FIRST lol

  • rate it for me

  • Sure! I'll rate it for you...hahahahaha

    I gave this a 1.

I didn't even watch it first, just smacked the mouse onto 1 * and then it was rated!

  • "I didn't even watch it first, just smacked the mouse onto 1 *"

Wow! That's a very mature way of making things, gratz! But your name suggested it, right? The same way you choose your operating system I guess... Don't even look at other things, just conclude that Winblows is better without even giving anything else a try. LOLOLOLOL, I feel so sry for you.

  • thank you

  • ur second :P

  • First comm :)
