DMT is found only in trace amounts in Yopo. The primary effect from Yopo comes from Bufotenine, not DMT.

It helps to add Syrian Rue if you eat the seeds. You can also smoke the seeds. Further info can be found on Erowid Vaults. The dietary restrictions have been eased with Syrian Rue as of late, tho. Mainly if you add Syrian Rue, you have to watch out for interactions with prescription drugs you may be taking, like for depression or high blood pressure. Have fun!

Eating them will work. Works best if taken with Syrian Rue or B. caapi but will work just fine by itself. The Rue or Caapi mainly just lengthen (and change somewhat) the experience.

one got to be careful with maoi`s. wrong usage can kill. syrian rue and b. caapi are maoi`s. erowid is a good resource for information on this. be careful, well informed and show respect (if you like).

I've never had the opportunity to smoke DMT. The Yopo is quite intense and hallucinogenic. It is hell on the sinuses,tho. You can also eat the A Peregrine seeds. This will make you nauseous, like ayahuasca. It helps to add Syrian Rue. It is also an intense experience. It is just the drawbacks of either burning sinuses or upset tummy. I look at the upset tummy as a small price to pay. When you eat it, it will last several hours.
