  • how long did u take?

  • soooo hypnotizing

    i want to watch MOREE

  • hi dan

i really like to watch your video's

can you tell me please from which material your orange/red "plates" are made of?

the flat plates you put on the wheel???

    thanks

    efrat

  • That is totally amazing...I'm starting pottery in my high school art class but I don't get to use the wheel until next year in advanced ceramics/sculpture/pottery....honestly I'm more of a painter than a sculptor/potter but I do love pottery and working with clay

  • Wow, speed throwing..... The lone Ranger... wow

  • Geez, you just flop it down on there and it turns into a masterpiece. Even the simplest of things you really make look perfect. I know this video is sped up but how long would it take you to make just one of those? Let alone 6 of them.

  • You make it look so easy =(

  • you're a badass. i just started throwing in my ceramics class, any tips for a beginner?

  • How many times do u use your bats

  • This is beautifully done. I couldn't stop laughing. It's great seeing pottery choreographed to music--or maybe it's the other way around. Perhaps someday it will be me producing bowls at this rate, but if not, it was worth it to see you do it.

  • Hi, I have a wheel which I have to stand at....I have serious difficulty centering. Do you think it's got to do with not being able to exert enough pressure? Should I rather invest in a sitting wheel?

    Thanks

    Adrienne

  • erm ! is it hard to do a clay Pot ! cause i wanna learn

  • No,not when you've been doing it for 20 years.

    Good luck.

  • I don't know if you've had a go but take it from someone who just tried it for the first time...

...if you think it looks good, when you try it you'll fall over yourself with excitement because it feels incredible.

Watch videos and pay attention to what's happening, try and picture how things you use might be thrown (plates, mugs, bowls, jugs, vases and so on); then do yourself a huge favour and arrange to spend a few hours with a potter SOON and get a feel for the clay. You'll be hooked. I am!

  • what type of clay do you use in your videos??

  • The clay is always Stoneware.

    Cheers,Dan

  • Your pulling technique is interesting. It's different how you pull upward and then bring the clay downward to shape. I've seen it in several of your videos. Seems to work fine for you, for me..... probably not.

  • what do you attach your bats to the wheel with? I dont see any bat pins or anything?

  • Hi.there are 2 pins ,one at the edge and one in the middle.

  • Oh wow! That is really amazing! I'm just now starting to learn how to make bowls and I keep having them fly out. Probably because I don't have my wheel slow enough....but, wow, you're just awesome!

    :D

  • The answer to what are them red things raises another: what the heck is perspex?

  • Don't know what you call it in the USA probably Plexiglass or polycarbonate or something.

Google Perspex and you'll find out.

  • what are them red things u place on the wheel? i wonder if i can get those for my school

  • Theyr'e homemade bats made out of really rigid thin vinyl,a bit like perspex.

  • So it really takes you three minutes to throw 6 pottery bowls? Eesh, I cannot even center it, yet lol!

  • Oh gosh, how do you do that? That's amazing!

  • Wow! May I ask where did you learn(train)? Your method is not like any I have seen before. Claire

  • cool
