  • I live in the center valley of california where our agriculuture far exceeds anywhere else in the country.. Ive been around the country and no place is as country as prather/ friant california... I f you guys disagree... we'll show ya around!!!

  • Love the acoustic! Shows off his vocal and guitar skills!

  • My god all these people bitching about this guy. HER IT IS He makes great music has no southern accent its called COUNTRY. He prob has more backwoods redneck geterdone attitude then any of you so STFU and o btw Texas isnt country its an overflow of mexico get it right. 90% of texas is fake want to be cowboys doesnt make em country. Most of em live in big city what is country about DALLAS? CMON now. I work on a 350 head dairy farm in NY and drive a tractor all day chewing redman THATS COUNTRY

  • @cbrocny Dude i live in DALLAS and im mexican decent and me and my dad run a 400-550 head of brahman and angus ranch Dallas aint all city folk

  • He is from wisconsin. so all you saying he has a fake accent is a joke. he talks like a true wisconsinite. this song isnt about the south. no where in the song does it say way down here. get your ehads out of your asses

  • @huntforlife90 the video was actually filmed in cairo, illinois, first free city in the north during the civil war, U.S. Grants headquarters were here, I grew up right across the river in Kentucky, and it is sad to see Cairo in the state it has become.

  • if its our backwoods way of livin your concerned with you can leave us alone. amen to that.

  • Whenever I say I'm from New York everybody thinks of N.Y. city. I'm from western N.Y. and grew up in the middle of farm country. Apple orchards, corn fields, and cows. I've never seen N.Y. city. The "laws" Josh sings about are here too.

  • Worst fake accent ever. I like the message of the song and all, but damn man, its obvious you're not from the south. Ditch the fake accent.

  • You don't have to be from the South and you don't even have to be an American to be country. The country is everything that isn't urban, and guess what! That's everywhere in between! Proud to be Canadian :)

  • shit come out to northern missesota out on the range or the reservation we got way more rednecks then yall down south its a way of life out here ya know what im sayin

  • You aren't from the South. Quit singing with a fake Southern accent, you Yankee poser.

  • @ReverseApacheMaster3 I'm from Texas so yea not a yankee fan but bro he didn't say he was from the Sout, it's Way Out Here not Way Down Here and secondly some of our nothern states like Nebraska, Iowa & Wisconsin have just as many country rednecks as Tennessee, Alabama or Texas. Now dont get in a fluster and throw insults cause I aint insultin you just stating a fact.

  • @CharlieEst1981 People from Wisconsin don't have Southern accents....I think that's the main gripe people have.

  • @TheManHere1 yes and people say he has a fake accent, I'm a rebel proud Texan who bleeds confederacy and I'm damn proud I have family who served the C.S.A. but I been to Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio and Nebraska and they have people there just as counrty and redneck as the South and Josh Thompson doesn't speek with a fake accent if he did he would be big time like some of these pretend country outlaws like Jason Aldean, Josh Thompson has a country accent not a Southern accent.

  • @CharlieEst1981 absolutely.. im from Georgia and I know that country folks that love our country are from all over. Any big city has fucksticks that do not have a country bone in their body regardless of south or north.

  • @tdlusa Yea tell me bout it. Houston, Dallas and other cities across this state is filled with bunches of city slickers who pretend to be redneck and think you automatically get that by being a southerner from Texas and the truth is they wouldn't last 8 hours out on a farm or away from their ever so conventional city.

  • I love Josh Thompson ...Greetzi from Berlin

  • Wisconsin boy making big in country music, beautiful thing. Good music.

  • our houses are protected by the good lord and the gun

  • bibile in the glove box and rifle behind the seat of my chevy

  • Love this song!

  • I wish more country artists would do acoustic versions of there songs. This is great, love it.

  • when are bird dog duke hears this hear tune, he dances on his hind legs, and throw them old paws in the air.

  • Tri-Cities Washington born and raised about as close to down south as it get in these parts. I'll probably get a farm out in Texas were my daddy's from after I retire from the Corps

  • looks like southern illinois

  • @rnhopkins2002 It is. This is my hometown. And i miss it every day of my life.

  • My hometown looks like that but mines still prolly abit smaller. After i move ima miss it..

  • im from the town this video is filmed in and it breaks my heart to see how much m hometown has been run down since i moved away.

  • this is the country anthem

  • Hi. This is the real sashabooboo. I never posted a comment here and have never heard of this artist.

  • i just bought a ford today.

  • look what Wal-Mart did to that town....

  • true country folk enough said

  • That's true. He wrote all ten tracks from his album while living in Milwaukee, WI.

  • Josh Thompson is from Wisconsin. You can't get in farther north in the U.S. except Alaska.

  • @Sashabooboo There's lots of states that go farther north than Wisconsin.

  • 39 people dont live way out here

  • thats funny cuz last time i checked country folks ain't just from the south. there's a shit ton of country folk north of the mason dixon. visit southwestern/ central pa. sometime and you'll find some of the biggest and craziest rednecks you've ever seen. "you have pittsburgh and philly at both ends and alabama in the middle" i just don't understand why you think in order to be country you have to be from the south

  • I love how people bolame Bush and only Bush for the war. There were a while bunch of peopel from both sides that voted to go to war.

This is unlike our current actions in Libya and Syria, where no one has voted to do crap, except Obama. He has done so using the same theories that Bush used to justify the invasion of Iraq. Theories the libreals, after the fact, said were bullcrap.

  • Actually, Toby Keith is pretty much a little of both. From what I have read and heard him say, he falls more right wing when it comes to social issues and more left wing when it comes to fiscal things. Social and fiscal might not be the best terms to use, but you get the idea.

  • @CanAm85 You damn right

  • @cjthetransformer22 but he did that to protect our rights cause in 01 thousands of americans were killed and if he didnt do nothin bout it they'd do it again til we put a boot in their ass

  • What I enjoyed most about the video was the add for Toby Keith's "Made in America" at the bottom. Who would want to listen to that left-wing scumbag?

  • @WestCarolina1861

Not sure what that means. Who the hell is a left-wing scumbag? Toby Keith would punch you out for calling him left-wing if that's who you mean. You can't get more right-wing than Toby.

  • @CanAm85

You should have Google'd it before you made yourself look like a douche.

Thank you for showing your ignorance, Toby has praised the Liberals and Obama countless times in the past few years.

Google it and see what happens. =)

  • josh is playing watseka illinois on aug 5. thats 90 miles south of chicago. cant wait to hear him sing way out here.

  • one of the few artist that can actually sing with out equipment to make there voice sound better.

  • Hell yeah this song is so great! I'm proud to be from good ole Southern Illinois, and livin my life way out here...

  • This was filmed in Cairo, Illinois. 30 miles from my house. Septemeber 20, 2013 I will be out of the Marine Corps and living "Way Out Here" again.

  • You say Lady Gaga, I say Lady Antebellum.

You say Jason Derulo, I say Jason Aldean.

    You say T-Pain, I say T-Swift

You say Ke$sha, I say Kenny.

You say Pitbull, I say Paisley.

You say Justin Bieber, I say Justin Moore and go grow a pair.

92% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Pop.If you are part of the 8% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 3 videos. Stop being a faggot and start listening to real music!!! COUNTRY!!

  • @MrBluesboy12 Amen dude . I'm from Washington state. I got boots, truck, gun, bible, land, tractor, dog, and a family. I bleed red just like any southern folks. I'm Country and proud. God bless America, those who love it, and those who fight for it.

  • @traxxas117 same here... Washington state and proud to be country. 2 jobs (2:30 am till 5 :40 pm) pullin my weight and no doubt about that.

  • @traxxas117 i'm from WA too...farm girl with the scars to prove it...I'm in CA right now....nobody knows what Amerca is...sad sad sad

    USMC whoop whoop

  • @traxxas117 hell yeah man you just need to move down south so you got more of us hahaha

  • @traxxas117 Can't agree with you more. Got me a backyard full of tractors, pair a boots, (No truck yet), Case of guns, and love my family more than anything else. I often get made fun of for rolling aroung in the dirt underneath one of my machines when they aren't workin right. When i was a boy my Paw told me this, "There are two types of people in the world, ones who are American and those who want to be American." Wont ever forget them words. Dont even get me started on the lord

  • 39 people aint worked for what they have.

  • Look my grandparents served in the military for 30 plus yrs n farmed n I'm down hm country I'm proud to be an American

  • @MrsStambaugh Just like that come on homeboy song. The toughest hoods most of them seen were on a sweat shirt. Dirt poor raised, dirt poor living is hella tougher then ghetto welfare raised. I earned the scars on my hands, the dirt under my nails, and the pride in my name. Aint no one trying to help poor white trash. Im gonna finish my beer, say my prayers and head to work in the morning. I guess its just a country thing.

  • 38 people got there ass kicked out here...

  • I see 38 people are ____... it's OBVIOUS this is "real talk!" I guess they can't handle that!

  • how dare there be a Honda commercial before this..

  • I've gotta say, this version is so much better than the newer video. I seen this on CMT long before the other came out and thought this one to have more everything. The way the video was shot, the scenery and area it was shot in, the content and idea behind it with that more relaxed sense. Just everything.

I also just love the fact that it's acoustic, really shows off his singing chops and proves that he belongs in the music industry, no doubt.

  • all I gotta say is I LOVE THIS SONG AND IM COUNTRY AND PROUD OF IT. LIKE BLAKE SHELTON SAID YOU CAN KISS MY COUNTRY ASS!!!!

  • @randiepandie5 rhett akins said that bud. blake shelton repeated it.

  • Wisconsin is Country too, this man is proof

  • this is good by me....

  • ...and to think that this place was going to be the new United States capital at one time...

  • Im from Denmark(Europa) And there i come from we country like hell!

  • @Rosenkilde2011 English fail!

  • @baybgurl76 right now with the tornado for sure

  • A video can make or break a song and this video shows how Josh Thompson is one of the most pure blooded americans walking this planet......Just like alot of us. I can relate to this song so much it's un-real.

  • In order to know what he is saying you actually need to go out and put in an 18 hour work day. Or live in the country or go in the backwoods. People can talk a big game but actually playing one is different. LOVE THIS SONG!!!

  • its awesome he filmed this video in cairo, illinois. i live right across the river and go there at least 4 times a week, closest place to buy beer haha

  • I absolutely love this song, and Josh

youtube.com/watch?v=I-eeQpliXb4 - not the greatest cover (infact probably one of the worst) but I tried. :) please check it out, and hopefully "like" it.

  • what town is this in what state please?

  • i love being country yall

  • obama doesnt want whats best for us we all know that we need some good ole boys in office

  • @archarik we don't need anymore George Bushs in office. No thanks.

  • @cjthetransformer22

We can only pray for someone as good as President Bush again.

  • @cjthetransformer22 George Bush is s joke.

  • @cjthetransformer22

id take him back over obama any day!!!!!!

obama hasnt done any thing but make the dollor worth jack shit

  • @archarik You must be from the south. George Bush sent us into war....not Obama. Don't tell me it's Obama's "fault" our dollar is worth nothing. Stop believing what you hear and do your OWN research. Something American's LACK so much is thinking for themselves......

  • @cjthetransformer22 i do think for myself and i know plenty so dont worry bout me and the War was more than over due. It was time to do something in the middle east years and years ago. and your right Obama isnt the one who made the dollor worth nothing, its the gov as a whole that caused it. but Obama is more concerned with filling out his march madness bracket on espn, needs to worry more about the problems we have.

  • @cjthetransformer22

Muslim extremists sent us into war. Yes it cost a lot. Doing nothing would have cost us our whole society. Obama is the problem because his administration is trying to destroy what America stands for.

I would suggest that you stop getting your political info from the Tonight Show and Saturday Night Live and do some REAL research.

  • @CanAm85 George Bush sent us into war. Why are you judging me? This is the internet and you don't know me. I don't watch SNL and I do watch the news. A lot of it, every single say. And I know that George Bush...at the time was the only one in charge to send our troops to war. Don't give me this shit alright? I have 4 cousins that fought for this country during his time in office. I have a boyfriend that has been over seas, and he's on his last deployment as we speak. I know more than you think.

  • @cjthetransformer22 Actually, only Congress can declare war. They had the final say.

  • this was the first version of this song that i heard on GAC. This song is so true, i love the part that says "We've got a fightin' side a mile wide but we pray for peace, cause it's mostly us that end up serving over seas"

  • i love this song and im proud it was filmed in cairo illinois and josh is a good singer and i work in this poor run down town that our goverment forgot about.this used to be little chicago and now its nothing

  • 31 people must not understand the meaning behind this song because this is about good ole america. And if you dont like america then you are crazy. I love this country. and when he says not a fight inside a mile wide but we pray for peace. I love that Because its the truth we are the ones giving our live in the military for you to have freedom and peace of mind. If you dont respect a Fallen soldier than your a fucked up individual

  • @ck42014

<3 what you said I completely agree.... I fly the americian flag with pride, an I thank the military for keeping me an my love ones safe an free... much respect.....

  • @ck42014 i think he said "We got a fightin' side a mile wide but we pray for peace" not a "fight inside a mile wide"

  • @ck42014 - Invading countries because Jewish neoconservatives in the 1990's wanted to secure the middle east for Israel is not patriotism. The sanctions on Iraq in the 1990's, for Israel, killed tens of thousand of Iraqi infants. Do an internet search for the policy paper published in the 1990's titled "A Clean Break" written by jewish neoconservatives. European American young men are dying not for the USA, but for Israel. Read Stephen J.Sniegoski's articles.

  • @funkybjorn11

Wow, you really are wacked out. Let me guess, no Holocaust? All a lie too, nutjob? Jewish conspiracy? American collonialism? Put your tinfoil hat back on and go back in your mother's basement.

  • @ck42014 ok i agree but he said " we got a fighting side a mile wide"

  • @ck42014 ok i agree but he said " we got a fighting side a mile wide"

  • @ck42014 This is one great country, isn't? When you say giving "our" lives, does that imply you're in the service? Whether you are or aren't it doesn't matter to me. This song is America in all its glory, don't you think?

  • @ck42014 ..it doesn't say "not a fight inside a mile wide" it says "we got a fightin side a mide wide". He means that we are willing to fight...

  • @ck42014 he doesn't say "not a fight inside a mile wide," he says "we got a fightin side a mile wide"...it means we are always willing and ready to fight...i'm in the military have have lost friends during my first tour to iraq...i know what this song means and what it is all about

  • @ck42014 got a fightin' side a mile wide but we pray for peace******

  • @ck42014 lol he says we have a fighting side a mile wide but i agree :)

  • @ck42014 I like your comment and all but he says " got a fightin side a mile wide" he does not say " not a fight inside a mile wide"...Just thought I'd clear that up

  • @ck42014 Its actually about the good ole south.. not america its self.

  • @TheYoungFisher96 dude your a fucking retard.... I mean I love the south, but it's about america itself, as a whole not just the south.... don't get me wrong I'm a southern boy, but if you were a true american then you wouldn't be so damn blind.

  • @jessiekins91 Im a fucking retard.. alright. "its mostly us who end up serving over seas" Well its mostly southern folk, yes? I dont think he would be talking about america as a whole cause that doesnt make any sense.

  • @ck42014 Also, "our necks are burnt, roads are dirt, and our trucks aint clean.." doesnt sound like any city life to me, sounds like the south. And he uses "us" and "we" you aint making any sense

  • Best country song out there today hands down.

  • aint that the truth

  • cause were about john Wayne, johnny cash, john Deere and kicking ass way out here.... me and my friends like version

  • this is not country this tells no story its like rap talking about how hood they are this kind of shit destroys the integrity the greats created you never heard twitty talk about how country and how much of a hick he was

    john wayne= A DRAFT DODGER

johnny cash= a crazy murderer(but still like him)

john deere= an overpriced piece of shit that does the same as a tractor half the price and last half as long

  • @KILLSWITCHnut He isnt trying to say how hood country style people are he is trying to tell how they live and thats it. This has the feel of an old cash song or jones song. I dont see how you think it is destroying the genre of music. Its a life style he is trying to describe and telling about how the country should get back to its roots.

  • @KILLSWITCHnut

    Killswitchnut = moron.

  • I'm from Minnesota.... and everybody I know loves country. Midwest people love country too damnit!

  • Saw him live last night (11/26) in Atlanta.. great show! And no - you don't have to be from the South to be country. I grew up in the Midwest, and everything in this song speaks to where I grew up. Where I grew up was the rule - not the exception. If it's our back woods way of living you're concerned with you can leave us alone. In other words... go call your ACLU buddies and get a life.

  • @adlabert

What do you think we listen to in Canada? We have 10% the population of the US across a wilderness twice the size of the US... You think we are hip-hop? Country is who you are, not where you are from...

  • @CanAm85

Brother, I think you misunderstood my post... you made my point.. it ain't where you're raised, but how. I could not find my original comment, but I agree with you totally. Country is country, regardless where you're from.

  • @CanAm85

Brother, I think you misunderstood my post... it ain't where you're raised, but how you're raised. You made my point. I don't disagree with you. I couldn't find my original post you commented on, but don't be so defensive.

  • HI Joshua

  • You dont have to be from the South to be Country.

  • @MrBluesboy12 This guy is from Wisconsin.

  • @MrBluesboy12 yurrr right brotherr haha, people r still stuck in the whole dukes of hazzard thing. srsly tho man, country isnt a place its a way of life no matter where you are!!

  • @MrBluesboy12 says you. lmao. you newyork motherfucker

  • @MrBluesboy12 true but if you from the city just stop now

  • @MrBluesboy12 very true! Seeing as Josh is from Wisconsin

  • @MrBluesboy12 Hell Yeah! We're from North California,South Alabam and little towns all across this land.

  • @MrBluesboy12 i hear ya, the south is far more densely populated than most northern states anyways. nothin's more country than the wide open spaces of nebraska, kansas, wyoming, and the dakotas

  • @MrBluesboy12 Brantley Gilbert says it best, "country must be country wide"

  • I wonder what would happen if a black dude showed up with a pregnant white girl?..........way out there......

  • @faragozaj take your nigger bullshit out of here bitch.

  • @savedixie14 Thank you for saying that so I didn't have to. Reminds me of my hometown here in southern bama...

  • @faragozaj The only one leaving would be the pregnant white girl. Get it?

  • @faragozaj ever heard of a shot gun?

  • @faragozaj they end up killin the stupid nigger.

  • @musickillers Racist alert!

  • @faragozaj

Spreading some more racial hate and stereotyping are ya?

  • anyone know where this was filmed at?

  • I been talkin so much like that shit i can't even switch it back no more. but dont you forget we got some good ole boys here in northern california!

  • He is from Wisconsin, is there really a need for him to front a southern accent while he sings? ohh look at me I'm from the suburbs of northern Milwaukee and I talk like I am from south Georgia...FRAUD

  • @bandyman12 I live in California, born & raised in Texas & the only time my southern accent shows is if I'm around someone with one. Does that make me a fraud too.

  • @youranonymouslover

The difference between you and Mr. Thompson is that you are southern. He is from 20 minutes north of Milwaukee. It's almost like its a forced accent. I live in southeast Tennessee with an accent thick as molasses. If I were to sing with a heavy British accent it would raise some brows. Same type of thing. It's just odd to me. Also, you are not a fraud, you are southern.

  • this is so ture

  • bullshit, it's not mostly your type in the army, if you had actually served, you would know that thompson

  • Hey yall Roll Tide Roll

  • a country boy can survive Country folks can survive Because you can’t starve us out

And you cant makes us run.

  • proud to say I'm from his hometown and went to the same highschool!

  • some real country finally.
