On top of that, during the Bush years REAL INCOME for the average family is down $2000. That's a couple mortgage payments and is the diffence between ownership and foreclosure.

McCain admitted a year ago the only reason we are in Iraq is not for the WMDs that were never found, it is for the OIL (see the movie THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR, with Robert Redford, Cliff Robertson, and Faye Dunaway, also ON DEADLY GROUND, with Steven Seagal). But when he interviewed Gore Vidal re: the Oklahoma City bombing a few years back, Vidal answered with something about Waco, and used the word "why" and Gibson pulled the feed. End of interview. But, if the federal govt is going to act like a business, should we be "buying up" (which is what bailing out is) comapnies that are actually PROFITABLE like EXXON. Why would the US FEDERAl GOVERNMENT, Inc. acting on behalf of it's stockholders (ie taxpayers) buy failed companies. Are we thinking of short selling or selling America short?

If the GOVT was not bailing these billionaires out, there would be NO NATURAL CORRECTION we would have had a 1000 point loss this week. It's not doom and gloom to suggest that the system collapses were due to TOO MUCH MERGING and LACK OF REGULATION and the recovery was do to a massive NATIONALIZING effort by the govt not buy ANYTHING Wall Street did. If NATIONALIZING is your answer for sound economic policy, then BRING IT ON.

Correct. The correction would lead to collapse. Thats why they bailed it out. But who created the F&F mess??? Carter/Clinton/Congress. Thank them for their corruption and crappy policy, and wasting our money on people who didnt deserve to own houses. There is plenty of regulation to go around. Its just ALL BAD REGULATION. The answer is to publicly hang these bastard Democrats who were skimming millions off the top, and who refused to address the problem when there was still time to do so.

If the market could correct itself then it should not accept a bailout from the govt. If it does than the govt just becomes another corporation. Since it was treasury funds that baacked the HEAVY int'l investment in Freddie and Fannie anyway, why not run it like a company. So what kind of company is the American Federal Govt, INC. if it only buys failed business and not profitable ones? The failed businessman BUSH is doing his stockholders (ie. us) a disservice w/ his choices as CEO of America.

When asked about the Bush Doctrine, Sarah Palin gives the ole' Alaska "MOOSE IN HEADLIGHTS look," then starts to babble like crazy about something she knows nothing about. Send her back to the PTA and put her in charge of assigning who brings the cupcakes and who brings the cookies & of course how many of each are needed for the next meeting! A task of this nature is abt her speed; certainly NOT VP of the USA. She asked herself "Can anyone tell me exactly what does a VP do all day anyway?"

Most Americans live on a razor thin budget. They leverage themselves to the point that one slight variable changing in their fiscal life (say gas prices go up) and everything else falls like dominos. Certain bills can't be paid when other bills are up to 2-3Xs more costly than the average American was prepared to pay. On top of that, during the Bush years REAL INCOME for the average family is down $2000. That's a couple mortgage payments and is the diffence between ownership and foreclosure.

No, most Americans are responsible adults who work hard every day and pay their bills. But when Clinton and his cronies make millions off of getting people into homes they can't afford, and we begin to see forclosures (less than 1%) all of a sudden Americans are "on a razor thin budget". Wrong. A few Americans bit off more than they could chew because of the lending mess created by Clinton/Carter, and now we are reaping the benefits.

I'm tired of dealing with a fool and a fake conservative who cannot nor will not take responsibilities for their party's own failures. AGAIN, if Bush was a Democrat, you would, rightfully, blame him for his SERIES of FOREIGN and DOMESTIC POLICY blunders. THERE is not ONE SINGLE BUSH policy that has been fully successful that has seen a successful outcome to FRUITIION. A surge where we bribe people to no shoot at us in a war that was declared "accomplished" 5 years ago does not count.

Reagan cut taxes, spending, regulation and created one of the largest periods of growth in the nations history, while defeating the Russians at the same time. Your sense of history is severely damaged. And so is your view of the market. It corrects itself. Just as gas prices are correcting themselves. The market closed on Friday UP for the month. A lesson for those out their to keep cool and trust the market. You doom & gloomers make me laugh.
