I love dystopian movies, especially ones of the post-apocalyptic genre, and i have been searching for good big budget ones to watch. Cant seem to find any though that i haven't already seen. I loved this movie! Amazing cast/characters and great story.

They had such a low budget to make this movie and it still looked better than some huge blockbusters made with much more money.

Serenity had great reviews, the critics and everybody who saw it loved it, sadly enough, not a lot of people did see it :(

I don't know if a sequel would be possible, but they could use a script where they have to investigate and find about Shepherd Book's past. That would also help to include him as flashback or some video footage. I don't know what to do without our lovely Wash, though. I'd like to see Badger as well. His reunion with river could be great considering how she freaked him out once :)

I wish the advertisements had played up the western element of the movie a little bit more. That's really what distinguished it. I understand that it's harder to market, and that they thought the public would be more interested in a straight-forward sci-fi action movie, but this trailer makes it look generic.

There shound NOT be a sequel - Serenity is basically the whole of what would have been Firefly season 2 compressed into an epic movie sendoff. Making up a whole new story just to keep the franchise going would ruin it IMO.

i don't consider it the end of firefly, i love the series with a passion but the movie... egh, it just wasn't the same, they focused more on the action and less on the drama and comedy. I hated how they added sound effects in space, the whole point of not having it in the show is A, (its realistic) B (it shows the vastness and emptiness of space.... They made the idea seam like purely sci-fy but its really supposed to be a recreation of the west...

@AnonymousPanacea I used to watch SG-1 all the time, but the original actors are pretty much all gone and the storyline is so far out from where they started it makes no sense anymore. When Apophus died, it was like they didn't have anything else to go on. That was supposed to be the end, IMO. Everything they wrote after that seems like it was made up later just to keep the show going. The series has been through a half dozen bad guys, O'neil has been recast at least twice - stick a fork in her.

SG-1: 3 (the Trust doesn't count imho), Atlantis: 2 (wraith & replicators), Universe, depends on what you define as the enemy here. I'd say 2 as the Lucian Alliance and the hostile Asgard are a threat at some point. Back to the question though, what does Serenity have to do with Stargate?

Blame Joss Whendon, he had a chance to bring Firefiy back, SyFy wanted it and Whendon was willing to listen, except one thing, he wanted to be the sole writer on the series, he would not let another person pen his baby. It is understandible that creators want to protect their creation, but they are not God. booth Genn Rodenberry and JJ Abrams brought other writers on, even Lucas is doing it. It is not possible for a single mind to write a whole series.

It is my biggest fantasy to live in a Sci-Fi world just like the one in Firefly/Serenity. Sadly I know that that fantasy will never be fullfilled because that time will not come in my lifetime. I thought, "If only I could live forever"

But then I thought more and realized... video games.. at one point they will fully emerge a person into a world, like the Matrix, and it can indeed happen in my lifetime. Plus the world will be less harsh, more fun. So I am not sad.
