hey i have question aside from the onkyo speaker packages i want to buy an extra loud speaker i mean big speaker...now where can i put the wire to the ONKYO receiver it makes me confuse were can put that... pls.. help me....
@junexyz2009 Remove existing Onkyo front speaker and add new big speaker and in the Receiver set up set it as large speakers...you existing Onkyo speakers will be unused.
I've had this system for a year now. Good system - has not let me down yet. I have a pair of three way 110 watt speakers for the front left and right - makes a world of difference in sound quality. Should always have a set of mean mains.
Need help .....I have connected my TV to the receiver VIA Optic Audio although i have got my self some B&W Speakers (Left and right) and am powering them with an amplifier, can i get an out from the receiver Optical to Analogue to connect to my amp?
If you are worried about speaker size the fact is Onkyo speakers more more slim and taller and perfectly matches flat panels even the depth is much lower compared to Yamaha. Speaker size difference Onkyo WxHxD(101x273x106) Yamaha WxHxD(105x151x113)mm.
Onkyo is much slimmer and designed to match flat panels...
If you want TV sound on this system I suggest you use Left Right RCA cables from TV line out to one of the AVReceiver input, if your TV supports coaxial digital o/p then you can connect that from TV to the AV Receiver.

hi,this subwoofer is ative or passive?
olá, o subwoofer é ativo ou passivo?
thanks
walkerawolf 2 years ago
Passive but powered by the aVReceiver. i.e, Subwoofer amp is built in the AV Receiver. So its a Powered sub but powered by aVReceiver

can you hook it up to the ps3 and listen to blu rays with this?
xphoenix23 2 years ago
Cant say but I have it hooked up to my Xbox 360 and I watch HD dvds with it. But im sure you can. Shouldnt be a problem.
puckerzzz 2 years ago
Yes you can, but route HDMI directly to the TV to enjoy Full HD video and for audio use optical or coaxial cable from Bluray to the Onkyo.

I have a sanyo DP32648, and i just bought this system. It seems that i need a coaxial cable to connect the system to the tv, or am i wrong?

I was thinking about buying it but.. the speakers are really big. I'm not sure at all. I'll surely buy the Yamaha YHT-290 instead!

I just bought this exact system a couple days ago. I didn't realize the speakers were that big! Thanks for the great info!
