I think the creators instead of getting brain disease(which is actually a good reason) sacrificed this graphics focused game for a fun focused game. Think about it. The demo shown could not carry out a battle with as many units than in game without messing up the gameplay.

no fricking duh, this game is meant to be an easy RTS to appeal to the Halo FPS gamers so they can grab a wider audience. Micromanaging and Strategy are kept to a minimum to keep things easy. Besides, starcraft 2 will be on the PC, where you have all the options of micro and macro management
