Double hang jam

I like it better when the hole is face up. I've never seen one of these, nor heard one, before. Very cool & I can see how it would not work well in a normal band or concert, even a circle would easily over power the sound. I've focused mainly on djembe, but recently started looking into other culture's tribal drums, like the frame drum some Indians use. What did you mix this with? I like that air sound with it ;)

@gmj2012 Sometimes it's hard for other musicians to adapt to hang while playing their instruments. Sometimes video plays backwards :)

Almost no correction done, i boosted bass little and edited in Sony Vegas video software.

@Lost8Wizard With appropriate choice of instruments maybe... shakers, quiet drums. amplification would help otherwise no chance. it's better to accompany singing and dance

Fabulous sound and interesting playing technique. I played a steel drum with mallets back when I was a teenager through my twenties. The notes for "Little brown jug" were on it and I played that song and a few others. My steel drum didn't have the richness that yours do, but didn't have recording devices like you either. What a refreshing change from the usual videos on Youtube. Thank you guys!

@milosjanata I blow air between my thumb knuckles(acting as a reed) and the air bounces from the center of my sealed palms producing the "toot". I squeeze the palms closer for higher notes etc for my over two and a half octave range. It would be interesting to combine our sounds. Maybe over the Summer.....

So cool! I played the double guitar Jamaican style drum when I was a music major in college in a steel drum band in the music dept. I majored in piano. @PatriciaRobinett Dear Patricia, It's just one instrument. Sometimes i turn it upside down where is a big hole and it produce bass sound. It's made in Switzerland.
