  • You are right in using a full nut of thread. However, I used the bolt and clamp purely for holding the job against the height blocks while adjusting the jaws, as adjusting the jaws without it would result in the job rising out of the jaws whilst truing. The jaws do all the work. I remove the bolt and clamp before any machining operations as they get in the way. Out of all the years I've machined these drums (15 years plus), I've not had any come out because of the height of the jaws.

  • I used to get my arse kicked if I didn't use a full nut when I was a kid! You also need some taller Jaws mate! Tell the bastards! :p Its only a matter of time before one of them comes out on ya!!

  • I worked with a guy who liked to bolt things down to his mill with only 1 or 2 threads on the nut engaged just like this

  • Just like me setting up the 24" die cast fan hubs at my old work, great videos!
