@tomcchilln That depends on what you define as a good price mate. to get a decent radar detector about 500 dollars the Beltronics RX65 is good for nz.

The very best one is the escort redline because it picks up the low powered speed cameras that are used now.

@nismo007 My Escort 8500 X50 Blue display cost me $640 Brand new. Yes it does pick them up they used to run on Ka ban now they are on K ban. i will send you a video soon

how far can you detect the vans?

@Jackcc5 yea cheers for that, i just had a look on trademe, any difference between the 8500 and 8500x50e saw some pretty crap ones like uniden whistler cobra lol, looks like some people rather have a door opener detector then a real radar detector

@nismo007 The Escort 8500 X50 E is the Euro Version. so the European version is more suited for Euro country's.

@nismo007 Escort is owned by Beltronics. both are very good brands in witch i have stood by for many years. i have tryed the valentine one i think it sucks the display is hard to read and it false alerts too much. i am using my cuzin's Beltronics Sti Driver at the moment it seems to have better filtering for filtering out them cheap ass uniden detectors. thats one thing the beltronics sti is better at Filtering

@Jackcc5 my mate had a uniden radar, lol i remember he was boosting about its gps tech, 2 days later he got a speeding ticket, next day sold it on tm, just looking on tm, seeing these so called saved my money radars for 30-90 bucks, lol all a bunch of liars, more like i got a fine, now i have to sell this pos

@Jackcc5 btw check out my 2 vids of the rs4 and gtr, i doubt i will be able to do those speeds in nz, i was given the rs4 as a company car and i won the gtr in this arabic thingy magigy prize draw, they gave away fucken lambos and ferraris rich people,besides the arabs this is a sweet place to speed,

@nismo007 I have had a Whistler R30 it sucked but it was better then nothing. then i got the beltronics rx55 pro that was a big step up and was really good on open roads had to upgrade when i moved in to the city couldn't turn the bans off or on ,on the beltronics rx55. then i got the valentine one i hated the false alerts i got rid of it after 2 days what a waste of money. now i got the Escort 8500 X50 Blue Display only problem it picks up the cheap radar detectors on ka 33.8

@nismo007 My Cuzins Beltronics Sti Driver Is working well at filtering out the cheap detectors i have not get an alert yet on ka ban. However i hope to get one soon so i can see the difference. the bel sti has slightly better range on K ban

hey I used to have a escort 8500 x50.... absolutely love them eh, but then I found the cops started to use rash tactics.... like laser and following me with their car speedo and so..... after losing my license pretty much once a year for excess demerits, I sold my escort and now just don't speed!

@downundervids888 yep that like to play games with you sometimes if they can see it. i can that unmarked police car this video come up be hide me and do instant on radar just to see if my radar was working or just to freak me out. thats when i put it in the middle of the windscreen now i keep it up top witch is better.

yep the best radar detector sens my beltronics rx55 witch was a great rd. just to many false alerts so i hard to upgrade
