How could you not listen to this and not want to hear more??? Listening to this made me pull out my poor old CD and will be playing it in the car and welcoming the New Year!!!! It just inspires, and takes me to my good place!...Yeah! My good place!!!! thanks for posting, love it! ; D
sigh, records don't sound like this anymore, beautiful production and melodies proper songwriting and craft. I prefer the original version but any version of this is fine by me. I long to hear sounds like this today, but I don't. I miss the early productions of Trevor Horn with McLaren and the Worlds Famous Supreme Team, ABC and Propaganda the Electro sounds of Bambaata and the New York Electro/Funk/Boogie axis, D Train, Chaka Khan and so on.
every country i spinned this classic the label was always different but the wonderful track was always the same miss these days of lazy summers getting high and fucking boys everywhere
At 3:55, imagine yourself running on a mountain side with the sun setting in the background..... that's what that section feels like! Green is a genius!
@hardcorehouse Spooky.. I work for Moog - seems strange to see my companies name on YT ! The Moog I know, was started by a relative of the Moog you know
I would have sliced up the original and remix a bit differently - not that I'm exactly an experienced mixologist :) - but I do appreciate the effort to blend the two together.
love the production on this record always have. Arif Mardin was always a gifted producer. What a life to work with so many talented artists throughout his career.
@monroeboy80 Thats what attracted me to this CD back in '85 was the production quality! Really high def sounding back then, especially if you had a good copy - I had the Japanese Import (Triangle) I used as a test disc because of the sonic superiority! Incredible dynamics, soundstaging and of course sheer Rhythm and Pace. Beautiful work Bernard Edwards and Jason Corsaro. Cheers !!!
@komputerwelt I just went on your page to watch the video, but it's been taken down :( If your name is a reference to Kraftwerk, they're really great! :D
@ScrittiSparkle thanks for the link mate, I have been wanting to share all kinds of stuff with u lately on here, but You Tube keeps acting up and on your pms your words keep disappearing as soon as they appear! Love this!
Aaah buenos recuerdos de aquella juventud de los 80s y 90s, en fiestas con mi hermano y toda la gente amiga, en los tonos en Los Olivos...mi juventud en 8 minutos. Thanks!!!
great sounding album that still sounds cool. arif mardin produced and played by class musos like steve ferrone, paul jackson jr,will lee and robbie buchanan.green has a unique voice a little girly sounding but thats okay!
Fantastic memories of this song when i used to go to some nightclubs in birmingham called millionares and top cats, when they palyed this song the whole place would just come alive!! I always remembered going to the clubs but have no idea how I got back hehehehe Awesome!!!
@tomstickland: Totally agreed. I make extended edits of songs, and you are absolutely right. This is an edit I would have "massaged" somewhat," you know? Made it unnoticeable.
@Tre404 & tomstickland Hey, feel free to massage away. I made this in 1998 with a very basic version of cool edit. I would do it differently now too. But as this version has been adopted all over the net, a lot of people seem to like it, bad editing and all :-)
Nice editing!! I like how you extended some of the memorable parts. I picked this 12" up about 4 months ago, and about wet my pants with excitement! haha
Small fact: the order of background vocalists is BJ Nelson, Tawatha Agee and Fonzi Thornton. Meow- I'm a stickler for correct background vocalist information- thus I had the tape as well. Meow

Did anyone think that he sounded like "Michael Jackson" back then?
I sure... did!
I went out and traveled to Long Island to find this remix
Loved it anyway!
Years later, I befriended some backround singers here in the U.S., that sung on both this, David Bowie, and Brian Ferry LP's...
"F-360" were their stateside names, and they did countless backing vocals on stuff over seas.
