Cool video...same the other 2 about this tank. One thing that gets me though is why can't the front turret face be slanted from hull on up instead of the split angle? Kind of like on the Challenger tank. Seems like with this version in this vid, the incoming round could deflect downward and enter into the tank through the top...or just trap the shot in the turret ring.
Love how the Israelis take old tanks and upgrade them. Hell they took WWII Shermans upgraded them and beat the pants of Syrian T54/55's. Of course the Centurion was way better but still SHERMANS ! for crying out loud.
I agree but there was British dude that said, "The strongest part of a tank isn't the front slope, The strongest part of a tank is its crew."
Out of necessity the Israelis excel at putting good tank crews together and they take training seriously. Once a good crew combination is found they try to keep that crew together as long as possible.

@tangocharlie11 That cupola was alraedy replaced on IDF M60s, but there really isn't an effective alternative that's as effective or safe as the cupola. Also they might want to ditch that worthless 120mm smoothbore. The M60 is,after all, not a multi-million dollar machine gun carrier.
@VickersIndependent Looks like we are stuck with the 120. I'd put a lot of effort in improving tube life. The MGs are needed for targets that don't need to be addressed with main gun. An external MG with chicken shields would be more effective.
@tangocharlie11 Why,when we alraedy have many 105 tubes and guns in storage. If we're willing to dumb-down 105s for Strykers,we should be more then capable of fitting a few 105s to some tanks. The external chicken sheilds sound nice, but ,for a tank as tall as the M60, it might not be the best choice.
It's no A3, but it's definitely awesome. Who needs an eighty ton behemoth of an M1 when you can have something that's half the weight, and just as good?
Whatever country buys some of these, they wont be dissapointed. Now if only there was a way to modernize the old M-103 heavies like this lol.
People don't realize how good the M-60 was. The M-60A3 had a very good fire control system and its TTS was better than the TTS on the initial M-1.
Yes, it didn't have the M-1's armor or its mobility but it put steel on target and the crews knew it inside out.

are they ever going to stop upgrading the m60?????

@tyuru2 Hopefully not. The M60 is a good tank. I'd ask the same question about the T-55 and T-72.

Just lose the cupola, it was always a PIA to reload the M85.

The MK1 looks exectly like Magach7c if i'm not mistaken. This should be Mk2 or 3, I think Mk3.

@jaket011 Presumably the turrets were developed by the same company using as many common parts as possible?
