The books are not quite the same as the show but still good. For starters I think Bob went under a great character evolution for the show and vastly improved from the source matieral. The show version of Bob is far superior to what he used to be in the books. However I wish the show had lasted long enough to introduce it's own version of Thomas Raith (my favorite character of the books).

The Dresden Files are very dear to me. My mother passed away in late 2006 and she loved shows like this. In January of 2007 The Dresden Files aired on The Scifi Channel and it was the first thing I let myself enjoy after my mother's death. It became very important to me and that's why I miss it so much now.

Devour, I am a fan of the books. There were certain things I just preferred with the show, particularly Bob. I love the show's version of Bob as much as I love Thomas Raith in the books. The show was special because I let myself enjoy it after serious grief and I wish it had lasted longer. it was a pleasant distraction to pull me through it.

Unityspirit50, don't worry too much for poor Bob. I was able translate some of the sigils written across his skull. Most are typical binding symbols like the Third pentacle of Saturn (for binding and controlling spirits) but what I found most interesting is the line of wounds from the axe wound read "A necessary pain followed by selflessness and reflection will lead to rebirth, progress, light and finally spiritual ascension. So there's still hope for poor Bob.

Kind of felt like a sign to me.

The address in Harry's Ad is literally just around the cormer from where I live! It's at the intersection of Grand & Ogden. I live on Ada. Mapquest Aerial View shows it as a vacant lot, but it's been a bank and strip mall since before I moved there. Must be an old pic.

The Dresden Files was actually filmed in Toronto Canada. I think they picked that address on his business card because ti really is not a place of business. On TV shows you can't use addresses or phone numbers of real businesses without consent of the owners. A strange fact, the external shots of Harry's office / apartment is the very building used for Nick Knight's apartment in the show Forever Knight. So Dresden is living in a place that used to be rented by a vampire.
