If you put the Rock in the ring after years out and he didnt get some work in he couldnt do a good match. And the Warrior wasnt a skilled wrestler anyway. This worked in 1990, not 1998. Too old to recreate that magic. Not to mention both were shitty in ring wrestlers and couldn't make each other look good.

Their timeing was awful , good chance Warrior didn't rehearse enough of the work with Hogan leading up to this lol he wasn't ever all that good at selling bumps. Warrior should have one the match but Hogan messed up. At the end where Hogan was trying to light the ball of fire the Warrior was suppossed to kick it back in Hogan face and then win the match.
I'm pretty sure he wasn't supposed to win. It's true that Hogan messed up the fire bit and to make matters worse it was his idea in the first place. But the problem was that the Ultimate Warrior started no-showing after this match so they just blew off the feud.

They could have made the ultimate warrior look way more aggressive (rope shaking, head bobbing, etc). That is what everyone wanted and wcw failed to give it.

i think it was in relation to the lawsuit between the warrior and mcmahon at the time over the warriors name. im also sure he wanted to differentiate himself from the old warrior. maybe not the best decision for the fans though. i wouldnt blame it on wcw

this really wasnt technically worse than the original match, its just done on a smaller "stage"
it didnt have the same hype but really its the same match when it comes to the wrestling quality....

mY god, everything in wcw looked and sounded 2nd class to wwf back in the day...even this...lol. I'll admit, wcw was running things with the nwo but that didn't last long, 3 yrs tops and it was stale. There were NO MORE ideas after that..

Hogan's entrance music was oh sooo sweeeet!!! But hogan, at this point, was COMPLETELY washed up though, i give them props that the heel turn revived wrestling for a few yrs...this match though, it was the worst EVER. Oddly, their WM encounter was considered top 10 ALL TIME..damn how times had changed by the time this came around.
