President O'Bama: "It gets better"? Really? Seriously, your words rang hollow to me then. Now, they are empty and devoid of any meaning whatsoever. How dare you lie to the endangered LGBT youth of our nation.
Adam isn't demonizing Obama. The president has done many wonderful things for the LGBT community, but he sometimes takes a step back to play it safe politically, perhaps to pander to his opponents. Adam is simply saying that the president's ambivalence about the subject of marriage equality leaves the LGBT community ostracized.
You are awesome! This was done so well and although I disagree with him I liked it. Honestly I think you people are too hard on Obama. He may be POTUS but his will is not law. He can't just give a command and laws are changed. In 3 years of Obama DADT is gone, DOMA is not enforced by the Whit House, supported the Respect for Marriage Act, brought pro LGBT issues before the UN and did a It Gets Better video. And people like this artist are demonizing him over his 'evolving' opinion on marriage.
While I am impressed with his talent, I do not agree with the message. President Obama has done more than previous presidents for equal rights and that is with a hostile senate / congress.
It is him for 2012 or a whole lot of hell from a republican president.
Though it is not ideal, I think a President who does nothing for equal rights (which does not even include Obama) is better than one that is going to take away rights.
President Barack Hussein Obama, Jr., has also STOPPED defending DOMA in court, 4 which he MUST have known he would take TREMENDOUS heat from political & religious conservatives (& clearly HAS taken it by now, & they're not finished with him, either!) The United States SENATE, where DOMA was passed, held hearings AGAINST DOMA 4 the first time in the 112th Congress, if I am not (sorely) mistaken. The DOMA proponents gave clearly damning testimony re their own position if U saw those hearings, 2!
@bimboblacky , Obama can only take credit for stopping DOJ's defence of DOMA. He does, however, continue to enforce it. If the law is unconstitutional, there are no grounds to enforce it. The only morally consistent course of action is to cease enforcing it, and defend the non-enforcement in court.
I definitely understand this young man's concern, & I am all 2 aware of what Dr. King said (& meant) when he said "Justice DELAYED is justice DENIED." Now, both he (and I) having reached that point in this post, we have STILL seen tremendous progress, which has GOT 2 B a good thing. DADT...fell. Obama pushed 4 that & DID personally the repeal directly in-2 law. Proposition 8 will DIE, even if it takes a SCOTUS hearing. (B expecting the Obama DOJ 2 enter as amicus curiae 4 GLBT Californians)!

We, in the gay community have become quite adept at exposing anti-gay bigotry and homophobia within the Republican party but many of us seem determined to turn a blind eye to anti-gay bigotry and homophobic view held by Democrats. We must DEMAND our equality and call out anyone and everyone who stands in our way. Good on you, Adam.
