  • I bought a CT33 and after a week I had problems with the auto function working intermittently. I never had any problems with the suction capabilities of the machine. It was very good in that regard. However after the problem my dealer didn't have stock to replace the CT33 and I had a job to do so he recommended the Bosch GAS50 as a swap out. I've found the Bosch just as good as the Festool, much cheaper and after around 6 months of daily use, very reliable.

  • I'm not a big fan of the Festool dust extractors. I had one for a year and it needed repair three times. I ended up happier with a large workshop extractor which had a superior induction motor and higher airwatt to input power ratio.

  • @aptsys The Festool vacuums are great, and do not break three times on the same user, unless they are using it wrong. You were the problem, and I I know this from experience. I bet you were trying to reuse your paper bags, to save money.

  • @RAREFORMDESIGNS No. Fresh bags used every time, relatively light duty work, absolutely no reason why they should have broken down. The report that came back from the service centre each time was a failure of the motor controller

Either way, even reusing paper bags should not cause a decent extractor to break down. Motor cooling has a separate air path, and a blocked air path actually decreases the load on the motor.

Perhaps you should get your facts straight.

  • I've got a ct26 hepa, it works great, it's quiet, could suck your eye balls out..the only bad thing about it is the hose is like wrestling an anaconda ;D
