  • God I SO want to go to a Renaissance Festival!!

  • AWESOME!!! I absolutely LOOVE it, wish I could have been there. So much joy and happiness :) thank you so much for posting, it totally made my day.

  • its so easy to just have fun, nice one

  • I would have rather watched the girl from 00:17.

  • I wanna be at that party! this is what's called really enjoying different walks of life coming together. great vid, on my favs now!

  • By different walks of life you mean white people pretending to be different walks of life. Let's not kid ourselves. Renaissance fairs are about 99% white people.

  • What's the first jig called?

  • hey how are these tunes called that are played in a medly?

  • the sound of the didge is missing

  • Yes... It should be amplified, or the other musicians should stop screaming that way. ;-)

It's a pity beacause the didje player is probably good (I say this looking at he's mouth movements).

  • its not missing, its just hard to hear, i hear it in some parts in the background. anytime you hear a low note, its probly the didge

  • Great fun. Great combination. A feast!!!!!

  • I AM 12 YEARS OLD AND WHAT IS THIS

  • ROFL!!!....LOL

  • This is a bunch of Rennies having a good time.

    :-)

Like most Renaissance Faire fare (sorry, couldn't resist) it isn't particularly authentic, but it's fun, with the African djembe drums, Australian didgeridoo, Scottish pipes, and Eastern belly dancers and what not...

  • just goes too show you how the ancient/old world goes more together then the modern one does lol

  • The main Piper looks like Jayme Hineman! Too cool! Those guys need to get up here to Alaska for the Palmer Fair, I think they would be a huge hit.

  • Pipes n drums n a didgeridoo all the basic ingredients ....marvellous

  • drum and bass remix!

  • Chalk one up for our common human culture. Awesome.

  • that sounds boss!!!! i love it!!!!

  • WONDERFUL!!!!!

    m'encantaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • lol that is so awesome, everyone just having an absolute blast together.

  • It's wonderous to think that the digeridoo from Australia and the bagpipes from Scotland seem to produce sound in the same overtone series.

  • wuhuw the first one is "the banjo breakdown" fockin nice tune^^

  • my kinda place beer women food music kick ass music vibrant in culture and style and improvisation lol bring in the Shamans and Druids shrooms and salvia if u wish and dance b happy celebrate till Dawn until the the first break of light beams into the landscape right on kick ass place ofc lets not forgot Mary Jane lol peace man thx 4 the vid *****

  • Now that's how you play a jig!

  • Bagpipes and djembe make an awesome combination, It's too bad you can't hear that much of the didgeridoo... But still, the little you can hear sounds good and fits well into the rest! Great clip!

  • Yes life is more than the money you earn!

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dam this is fearce

  • It's hardly a duet, is it? - Good, though.

  • i can hear the didgeridoo a little. its awesome anyways! great job, wish i could have somethin like this at our ren fest

  • Bagpipes,Djembe and Didge...

GREAT GREAT GREAT !!!!! more than 5 stars !!!!

  • yes....

  • Awesome....

  • holy shit that is fucking awesome 500/5

  • The only way that could have been better is if the didge was amplified so you could hear it a bit better.

  • i'm selling my accordion and buying a didge!!!!!!!!

  • would be very well invested money =)

  • make your own didgeridoo. more prideful sense when you play it.

  • Keep your accordion and buy a didge... they aren't that expensive

  • Wow, I'm going to get up and Dance!!!FUN

  • F--KING EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • He looks a bit like Jamie Hineman, WAY cool!

  • Thats Cool

    2 Cultures one Sprit

  • i can bearly hear the didgeridoo ... anyways it sounds great :D

  • what's the title of the jig?

  • Waouhhhh !!!!! GReat !!!!!

  • get them on X factor please

  • Tartanic is great at bringing together the Middle Eastern and Celtic tones. I loved how a couple of other bagpipers joined in and just started droning their pipes. Looks like a lot of people having a lot of fun. Can't knock that!

  • It is called a "Bronze Age Irish Horn", check out the "Wicked Tinkers". I don't know what it is about the pipes, didgeridoo, and the djembe, it just works!!!! Looks like these people are having an awesome time, wish I could've been there!!

  • Actually... Archaeologists found an unusual instrument in Ireland and Scotland that was just a long, curved, bronze tube. Nobody knew for a long time what it was or how to play it. That is until someone finally realized it resembled the Australian didgeridoo and tried playing the bronze horn like a didgeridoo. Turns out that the Irish and Scots have something in common with Australians. Funny eh?!

An I don't care if some of you out there don't believe me, I know its true.

  • WaaaaaaaaaaaaaaooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuH

  • That one dancer is gorgeous.. wish I could have seen this in person. This is great!

  • oh wow.

what an amazing combination.... i'm in awe.

  • Fuuuuuuck, i saw a vampire at 1:53

  • Do somebody Know what is the name of the jig played after the Gold ring?

  • Peace!I I love it.

  • This is the best thing I have ever seen!!! Bagpipes, didg, drums and bellydancers!!

  • That was awesome. Does anyone know what event it was at, I want to go.

  • Fantastic jam! Djembe, bagpipes and didgeridoo? I wouldn't have guessed that such a mix would sound so fantastic. Thanks for posting this - I can't stop coming back to it.

  • Hallo . HAHA

    sounds good

  • This drummer's gotta be part of a metal band.

Glad not everyone's white amidst the african drummers- this is damn cool!

  • is that the the guy from mythbusters

  • Real musicians enjoying the beauty of their sounds! magnificent!

  • I have always wanted to know how a didgeridoo would sound when played along with a piper. Now that I know, it sounds brilliant.

Thanks for the post - from Sydney, Australia.

  • Hah, those are the guys from Giving Tree Rhythms. They made a couple of my PVC didges. Very nice. :)

  • One of my favourates here in youtube!

Thank you for sharing this piece of love!

  • This really makes me want to dance

    It's amazing!

  • There were a few stuff ups in this... But who cares?! This was done from desire and not from dutie! THIS IS MORE PERFECT THAN ANYTHING I COULD EVER BE CAPABLE OF ON PIPES! I LOVE IT! And also how everyone congregates... An african descended instrument And aboriginal origin instrument, And a highlanders pipes... PERFECT! There should be more gatherings like this! Peace from Australia!
  • the perfect day would consist of one instrument from every caulter brought together for one huge play! I am sure that it would one for the record books and the memories!

    Lates Mate

  • Maybe instead of, you know, blowing each other up and stealing what we can from each other in a vain and fruitless quest which nobody even knows the reason for...

We should just all get together and Jam!

The world is a beautiful place, the human race incredible, talented, inspiring - when we allow ourselves to be.

  • LETS GET TOGETHER AND JAM MAN!!! =D

I play both pipes and didge man :)

Not aboriginal nor a scotsman either

    THIS ROCKS!!!

  • I was at this, if memory serves this particular jam session(not the event just this performance) began as a celebration of one of the drummers. It was his Birthday.

  • Fantastic

  • I Love IT

  • It's cool, wonder if they've taken a page from Victoria Police Pipe Band. First heard Didgeridoo and Bagpipe mix from their Master Blaster CD. It's cool though. I can't play my pipes for 8 minutes straight. Not that I know of anyways. lol

  • its said but if only the world would be like that

  • It's amazing how music from all over the world can combine and still sound great.

  • Fantastic mix of music and cultures! If only the whole world would be like that!

  • amazing ! I love this.

  • You can slightly hear the didg drone in the background of of the bagpipe and the drums but i bet being there it would of sounded incredible, the drone matching the tone of the bagpipes, magnifico!

  • try subwoofers

  • I did not hear didgeridoo

  • excellent sparkyfry, thanks for posting

  • I did not hear didgeridoo and bagpipe in the same time.

  • I wish I was there too :'(

  • Absolutely Wondeful

  • Fantastic. Fanstastich. Fantastique.

  • Long Live MN Ren Fest!! HAAAZAAAA!!

  • Muy buen video! PAZ

  • I went to a lot of their drum jams they had last year, and I can't get enough of it! They schedule it at 5pm every day at the renaissance festival (for those that are lucky enough to live close enough and go to the Minnesota renaissance festival). The main guy you see on the djembe drum owns the drum shop there, and he's the one that put together this drum jam. Check out his drums, they're simply amazing drums.

givingtreemusic dot com is his site for his Djembe drums and Didgeridoos.

  • wow awesome. I wish i was there. Ditto to what singstroussie said (minus the florida part).

  • I agree with that last guy, if there is heaven its a didj and a bagpipe

  • Drums didje and dance...........Where the hell was I?? Is that Heaven.

  • DANCE!!! DANCE DAMMNIT!!!!!

i love. good finger work with twin pipes. playing jigs with two people isn't easy.

  • can anyone tell me the songs he is playing(besides paddys leather breaches, and i think corkhill)?

  • Always a good mix the didgeridoo and bag pipes. Thx

  • I play didgeridoo, and love it, but also want to try my hane with a bagpipe. I love this combo. The best part is that it happened spontaneously,(or so it seems) at a ren-fest, just like the one i have so many amazing memories from down here in S. Florida.

  • This is great! It looks like everybody was having fun!

  • this is just an amazing combo couldnt ask for anything more

  • Thats great!

  • Great combination of bagpipe, drum and didgeridoo. I like this, very much.

  • oh i love that video, very nice ;)

  • This is one of the best things I have ever seen in my life.

  • You must never have lived then - hokipokiloki!!!!

  • Awesome! I'm a huge fan of band that puts the dig and pipes together all the time! Brother is a band from Australia. In fact they play some of these same tunes from time to time in addition to there awe inspiring original works. Check them out "mongreltv".

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some 1920's trading cards of musical instruments, including the bagpipes.
