@DaveK183 Guinea pigs are actually okay with noise. You just have to get them used to it, my vacuum is really loud but when I use it my guinea pig is completely fine and continues eating or laying down or whatever it is he's doing.
The noise from the Roomba hurt MY ears and I can turn down the volume. I can't imagine what it must be like for the poor guinea pig. She stayed on because she was frozen with fear....a very common survival strategy. Please don't do that again.
I have two guinea pigs myself and in my experience a not uncommon response to fear is standing still.... I'm just saying. Maybe at first it was ok, but to let her keep spinning and spinning just didn't seem very fun for her anymore... only amusement for yourselves...
I've had quite a few guinea pigs and would say that would imply greater intelligence then it probably had unfortunately... The ability to understand your surroundings and then make a decision not to jump is unlikely. Most of them would probably actually jump off in response to fear or boredom but if you look back over the video Junior is heavily preoccupied with sniffing and nibbling the roomba... Junior in particular was always calm when she was by herself, she didn't like contact with others.
@Indocybin No it is not unreasonable at all. That is one of their responses to overwhelming fear. Between the movement and noise that Guinea Pig is scared beyond belief and full of stress. People who put this poor pig on that vacuum obviously do not care about their pets well being.
How did he react when it turned off?
