Watched the race. I stayed up till wee hours of the morning waiting to hear her fate. Broke my heart! Greatest filly that ever lived!! She had him!

@breyerismythang223 july 1975 i believe she was put down at one in the morning i am not sure. She could of survived put she broke her other leg after surgery

I was 5. I loved that filly soo much she was like my childhood hero.

I was only 6 years old when she brokedown and broke my heart. A hard lesson at a very young age. I stll remember my mother coming into my room to tell me they had to put her down. There will never be another like her..... A true Champion for the ages.

I saw the race on tv & had a really bad feeling before it started. I had been seated on the sofa, but wasn't 2 feet from the set when disaster struck. What a heartbreaking end for an incredible filly! I still can't watch that final race on you tube.
