  • erm, the antea certification documentation states that the certification to ENC was achieved ONLY with trimmers set to 0cm...

  • @ppgnutter Yes the Antea 2 is a fully certified glider. You can FULLY accelerate it with speedbar only. You don't need trims like uncertified reflex gliders. So you get all the safety but waaaaaay better performance as well. It is a seriously sweet wing too. I cannot even comprehend how anyone could fly a Paramania or Dudek reflex wing. The feel and handling is so horrible it doesn't make sense how anyone would fly one for any reason despite the terrible safety and poor performance.

  • I'm just starting my ppg training in the uk and will shortly be looking to buy a motor and wing, I am interested by these comparisons that you have done, were they independently verified? If not were the all up weights, wing size, trimmers engine size, fuel load, rpm etc etc all the same? If not I would say the comparison is worthless.

  • @MrConkeydock We carry all 3 brands so we don't care one bit which one is better. You don't want any of these though, as a new pilot you would want the K2 for the additional safety. The K2 is much better than the Fusion but a touch slower than the Ozone Speedster equals for equals. Drop to a smaller K2 though with a bit more wing loading and it is faster then the Speedster as well but still waaaaaay safer. So the K2 would definitely be the wing we would recommend for a new pilot.

  • @MrConkeydock Also for training you should really travel to where the best pilots are since there are no qualified instructors in the UK that I'm aware of currently. So if you travel to the US for training you can not only get much much better instruction and a lot more of it due to more consistent weather conditions but then you can take the gear back with you on the plane and save quite a bit in shipping. It costs less to fly to the US then to do it there. Just call 801-631-1731

  • that's helpful thanks for uploading that

  • How does the Antea 2 compare with your 'new' Reflaction (U-Turns full reflex paraglider)?

  • @BrianTurboT The Reflaction is faster than the Antea 2 which you would expect from an uncertified class glider. The stupidity is buying uncertified class gliders that can't even beat super safe certified wings. I have no idea why people would even consider the wings from Paramania or Dudek that can't pass ANY level of safety certifications and have terrible performance as well. It makes no sense. Hopefully this video will help people see reality.

  • @imasuper0308

Ummmh .. yes ... thought it might be.

Just how much faster do you reckon your uncertfied Reflaction Reflex paraglider is (both flown with 'normal' wing loading)? .... have you had the chance to do a 'side by side' video comparison, Reflaction v Antea 2 yet?

  • @BrianTurboT Yes I've done the video but I haven't posted it yet. The Reflaction is only a couple mph faster. Kinda pitiful for an uncertified glider. If you go uncertified class you should get way more performance like that. The Eris III RS and Morpheus are still the king of the wing for speed. Nothing touches them.

  • Very interesting. I would be interested to find out more about how it prevents the collapse. Is it in the bridle design or does it have more to do with the aerodynamics of the canopy. I have often wondered why paragliders are still open cell, but this may explain it. Any chance of getting some more details as to how the collapse is prevented? I find this very interesting. Thanks Dell.

  • @LigerZer077 That's a good question. Interestingly enough you don't want to prevent a collapse. The ability to collapse is what makes them extremely safe. It is what happens after a collapse that is what is important. With a hang glider if you get nailed with a huge gust it can flip you upside down and put you into a lethal situation. A paraglider can absorb energy while staying above your head to also control your decent rate. Collapses are your friend. A certified glider recovers fast.

  • @imasuper0308 Quite a few people fear a collapse but that is one of the reasons zero people have ever died on WPPGA certified equipment. Like the inflatable play land kids jump on a paraglider can absorb incredible energy but then pop right back out. The certifications mean it will pop right back out quickly and with very minimal change in course direct. If it can't collapse then instead of tucking to absorb energy it could flip over which is far worse. Collapses are good. Recovery is key.

  • What happened to the passion canopy that was so great. "POW" Wasn't that what you and

your faithful side kick where saying. Just wondering?

  • Hope you brought a change of underpants. LOL

  • Great as always. Thanks Dell.

  • NICE DELL...

  • So very good of you to make these comparisons, to show us what to buy. These test you preform are a life saver. As a beginner I would never be able to know these things. Thanks Dell.

  • Are you testing the same wing loading for both the Ozone Speedster and the Sky Antea 2? A heavily loaded wing will always fly faster than a lighter one. Just wondering how all the numbers stack up.
