  • If it still doesn't detect an LCD TV in your display > screen resolution options, here is a solution that worked for me:

Open your Control Panel, click on Device Manager, go to Display adaptors. Make sure all displays are enabled,

(sometimes they are disabled by default, either because of Windows 7 or the Graphics card.)

Now LCD TV will show up in your display options and 'Devices and Printers'. Hurrah!

    Hope this helps.

  • @zangief Hey I have tried everything. Just bought a 50 inch Panasonic viera Plasma and plugged in HDMI cable and nothing. Just says no signal. I had been using my old tv as a monitor with no probs. Now cant get squat. Any ideas. I just tries what u suggested and still nada

  • @1957macme Ok, here's another solution!. Turn PC on- Press F8 at start up.. Choose safe mode. It'll load the basic display stuff and bypass whatever drivers stopping it from displaying- Now, go to Display->Screen Resolution- Your TV will show up and the tv itself will register it. Choose 3|4 Extend displays. Booyakashaa! Job's a good 'un.

  • I DID THIS BEFORE AND WEN I PLUGGED IN THE HDMI CABLE NOTHING HAPPEND

  • @vettekid407 I have the same prob did you figure it out

  • This doesn't work at all for me. When I plug the hdmi in to both it says no signal

  • now..make it touchscreen and you'll be set

  • Did you record this with a toaster?

  • @Shadow6728 HAHAHAHAHAHA LMMFAO

  • my hdmi input on my laptop is blocked by a rubber thing

  • Closing the laptop screen works but is not the only way to fix the resolution problem. The Underscan feature in the resolution properties is how you really fix it.

  • @statusphere explain this please? on the tv you mean? or the mac?

  • @nwoisnow

    In OS X (Mac)

This guy isn't running OS X instead he is running a skinned Windows 7 so he doesn’t have the underscan feature directly incorporated however if you have an ATI GPU then the underscan option can be found in the Catalyst Control Center. I’m sure NVidia owners have this capability as well within the NVidia Control Center...

    Hope this helps
