@hiphoplivs a Garrett or HKS T04e is a nice turbo for street use, quick spooling and has it's peak efficiency between 12-15psi. Also good for upto 340-370hp

@hiphoplivs well I would actually suggest the gt35r with t3 exhaust flange you can run low boost with quick spool up and if you wanted to can boost 20psi for high numbers like 510hp+ :)

can't help it. THESE people poses as if they know what they're talking about while in fact, you can only do a mere comparison if A) you have an FD with the same TUNE, or B) you are a professional (licensed) mazda tuner. chief mechanic would be better. Bottom line is, don't speak of what you do not know.

Errrrm have you ever heard of throttle control? e.g. if you accelerate half throttle the revs will continue to increase but you will not use full power - I still wanted to rev it high but not on full load hence the half throttle. I was running a base map limited to 10psi, if I put my foot all the way down there was a chance I would have overboosted due to full load which I didnt want to risk!

thats like 14 psi . 10 psi wont be that fast . even wif good tuning . 10 psi is 0.7 bar . that car at least has like 12 psi .

I was running on a base map so could only go to 10psi (0.7bar). Dont forget I have a small streetport and a single turbo which will give more power than a stock engine at those levels.

this car is deffinately not affordable haha. im onto my third transmission, and i need a rebuild. the engine does have 100,000 kms though. these engines are rare so they are even more expensive to get them worked on.

!! do not buy a rotary if your knowledge tells you its affordable and reliable. when this one breaks you'll be taking apart that motor to get it running again. and a rotary looks very foreign to those that only know piston engines. youre gas mileage will destroy you financially. imo for a first car you might want an fc or a honda, nobody wants to see that $15,000 fd wrapped around a tree.

I don't know why people have to be negative about me liking the car. Id rather know how to fix it myself cause id probably waste more money on a mechanic to do it. Im not dreaming it a goal in my head that I want to accomplish rotarys engines are way easier to understand than a piston engine in my opinion I don't care if I have to do maintenance cause I already do maintenance on my guitars, computer, and all sorts of stuff and they all helped me learn more. Military engineer is my dream.

i will tell your right now go onto this rx7 forum rx7club.c o m because if you dont know anything about the fd3 it will be a nightmare the rotory is a special motor and for modifying it start doing reliabilty mods first
