  • As a beginner to Tang Soo Do or any other form of martial arts i found this video quite helpful in practicing this particular hyung. Tang Soo!

  • The lawn mower in the background is distracting.

  • Very nice. As for the two talking about "stiff" or "flowing". We have a um yang in our association and style. Our movements represents that um yang as in we are soft and hard style. Olmost like a whip. Two questions as i am confused. 1. Your back kick, do you call it dwi cha ki? Or dwi tollio cha ki? 2. Are you on nahanchi? Or bai sai yet? Im a cho dan bo testing finally april 8th for cho dan. Anyways ka map su ni da and Tang Soo!

  • Hello, i no im not great im only a brown belt but i have to disagree with the comment you said to @aspiewold as i have always been told to let my movements flow and not to be stifff :\

  • Just wondering, are there different versions of the form thing, because i learned it slightly differently. I don't do the kicks, instead i do low block, punch, punch, punch. I've seen it both ways though.

  • I like how i type in white belt koren form and it gives me all this black belt stuff but then again i forgot the the exact name for the style im learning but its similar to yours.

  • work on your ki-up and your kicks

  • Tang Soo Do is all about speed into power, it's relex when moving and flex when impact of attack or defense. Every movement is snap snap snap break the wind, and your ki-up should be louder more like a almighty lion. You are too stiff, need to be more fluid with your techniques. Good form but need a lot more practice.

  • @huavali you must not know this but you spelled ki-up wrong and probably pronounce it wrong as well it is spell and said like ki-hap and tang soo do is more power than speed thats why you pivot the ankle and snap the knee at the same time not speed into power because power comes first

  • @cockfightoverhere lol I am pretty sure you are a white belt to be checking grammar and to not understand the concept at all

  • Just want to point out that you need to work on your roundhouses. Make sure you pivot the foot that is planted. If you don't 1.) you loose a lot of power from your hips and 2.) you can really screw up your knees. Respectful thoughts.

  • @dustyrust11 Thanks for the input. Yeah I agree that I messed up on my round house kicks. *bow*

  • I forgot you used to have long hair!

  • Very good my friend,

I was a 6th gup in the Oregon chapter#1 watching you brings back memories

  • I had to watch this again Mark! Awsome! This basic block techniques and stances and kicks and movements look so similar to shotokan karate to me.

Very nice to see your hip working as well with the front kicks and round house kicks. Also good food work! Loved also your back kicks!

  • Can you show us how to do the back flips, or jumping with front, back flips?

  • I can't do back flips (yet) haha.

  • Most people can't back flip, you need gymnastic skill with a very supple body to pull them off.

  • Your moves look stiff my friend, you need to be more like water. Be water my friend (Bruce Lee).

  • The tang soo do style tends to look a little stiff. That's just part of the style :)

  • How does this more rigid style of self defence, compare to the more loose styles of self defence? Which do you think are more effective fighting styles? Can you also explain your answer in some detail, with bullet points please?

  • tang soo do forms are stiff and uncomfortable

  • @cockfightoverhere and the front stance must be done straighter your front leg is further than it should be away from your body remember they stay shoulder length apart in width and you should not be able to see your toes above the knee

  • That was wonderfully aswome mark! I can not wait to see the other belt colours performances from you!

    Please make some more!!!

    Thank you.

    7***** and favorited.
