what is so great about it? i won't buy this because I already have a cell phone and a computer and a mp3 player and a Personal Media Player. i don't need this shit.
Wow, this reporter is hell bent on tearing down both the iPhone and Apple. I'm all for mentioning competitors, but when someone says that iPhone and iPod competitors "do the same thing" it's clear that they're missing the fundamental point: while some of the features may be the same, it's the ease, implementation, and experience that are key. There was no reason to include Apple's PR intervention other than to put them in a bad light. The bias in this segment is so blatant it's comical.
It crashed when I tried it in the apple store, my girlfriend couldn't use it because she has long nails, data loaded slowly and on top of that all, its 2G.
It's 2.5G. I'd rather have extended battery life with a slow connection than short battery life with 3G. It's really fast in WiFi mode. Can she use other cell phones with her long nails?
I don't understand this monopoly argument. When you have a monopoly on something, that means that consumers don't have any choice, so in what way is Apple a monopoly? Do the carriers that compete with O2 not have phones or as this broadcast brings out, lower cell phone rates? Is the British government forcing people to buy iPhones?

Interesting. Really is anyone forcing people to purchase the iphone? If it's too expensive take a cheaper option. I remember paying £300 for a motorola 10 years ago, which didn't come close to this phone. Yes there are phones with more funtions, so people should stop complaining and go and get one of those. It is that simple

Implementation seemed pretty shit to me.

Its a sensible argument, its anti-competitive behavior, which is discouraged under EU law.

in the us the other guys are giving away phones with a their service-and you can only use their service- wondering if you find that anti-competitive
