A fair performance. At least Zakharova has acquired more taste in her dancing and actually shows some concern for shaping her performance. It’s not all about high extensions and high insteps for her anymore, thank God. Her dancing has even developed some expressive quality. However, with Osipova around, I think Zakharova should avoid dancing Kitri like the plague. She’ll only suffer in comparison.

@avesraggiana I don't know if you refer to Zakharova's Kitri in general or what. Here, the ballerina playing Kitri is Maria Alexandrova, not Zakharova.

@veronicamanrique I was referring to the former, Zakharova’s Kitri in general. She may be beautiful in other roles but she doesn’t do for me in Kitri. Those freakishly arched feet and sky high extensions don’t hold a candle to the athleticism and unrestrained exuberance that Alexandrova and Osipova bring to Kitri. Both ballerinas have put their own indelible stamp on the role, and justifiably so.
