I'm debating whether to jailbreak, or to just leave my phone stock. I have a 16GB iPhone, and I don't know if I want to risk losing my phone, but I've been reading up and I've found that there isn't really a risk of bricking or totaling, is this True? And oes anyone have any advice, because I just want to get some of the different themes and applications not allowed without jailbreaking. all apps on cydia are free and there is no chance in bricking your iphone because any step in the process you can stop and restore so go ahead and jailbreak it but just to be safe make sure you are doing the right generation

ps if you get a white screen in the middle of the jailbreaking this does not mean it is bricked it is just stopped by apple if this happens restore then try again with diferent jailbreaking proccess

pss. dont give up it can sometimes be tricky

And it worked, I did jailbrake my iPhone BUT, I can't use any usb device on my iMac anymore.

yep there is a way, its called downgrading. What you have to do is just google "ipod touch 2.2 firmware or something like that and download it. After you download restore the ipod with that firmware. to do that, hold down the option key when pressing restore in itunes and direct it to the firmware (the 2.2 firmware that you downloaded)

I had the exact same problem. Every time I restarted I got a grey screen that said to restart in 4 languages, couldn't go any further. I called apple, they called it a Kernel Failure, which is pretty bad. It's looking like I'll have to do a full reinstall

Like i said to many people before, this process is not error proof that means that there are bugs that sometimes cause errors to pop up. What you need to do is try to redo the jailbreak.

Ok first of all make sure that you are already running 2.2.1 before you begin the jail-breaking process. Also make sure that you have installed the fix and RESTARTED your computer. Also you have to have the latest version of iTunes. Other than that there are some glitches from time to time so try redoing the process.

try to not use the custom pineapple logo. When you are using pwnage tool it will ask you whether you want to use the pineapple logo and so on. If you are still having problems make sure you have the latest version of itunes and try to redo the process. Make sure you have the fix installed before attempting to jailbreak.

Hey, just to be sure, what computer do you have, mac or windows? If you have mac, make sure its under 1.5.6 if not it wnt work. If you do have 10.5.6 or more, just archive your mac. I need to figure out one more detail on that, but you can bring it back down to version 10.5.4

I got it now. When I was listening to your video I thought you said it will only work if your phone is "not" unlocked. So I just had to use QuickPwn which worked great. After reading around I think this is the exact reason most people have trouble jailbreaking. IF YOUR PHONE IS LOCKED USE QUICKPWN.
