It is called math, build your gables on the ground raise them and set your ridge. My dad taught me to cut the whole roof on the ground. If you take careful measurements and plan a stick roof can be a work of art.
The way i do it is pull 2 rafters up, place them on the layout lines and let them rest on each other and nail them to the top plate of the wall, next i move down a few feet and do the same do this a few more times then slide the ridge up under and between the rafters and nail them to the ridge i brace where necessary , theres more but thats the gist of it. These guys are idiots!

Realize, there is a general contractor or a home owner turning a blind eye to this. I have framed many roofs and I would never put a fellow human at risk in this manner.

It is called math, build your gables on the ground raise them and set your ridge. My dad taught me to cut the whole roof on the ground. If you take careful measurements and plan a stick roof can be a work of art.

The way i do it is pull 2 rafters up, place them on the layout lines and let them rest on each other and nail them to the top plate of the wall, next i move down a few feet and do the same do this a few more times then slide the ridge up under and between the rafters and nail them to the ridge i brace where necessary , theres more but thats the gist of it. These guys are idiots!
