But in an interview with McBob (Duffs guitar-tech) he says it is a modified Aerodyne.

and Frank is awesome, but if you listen to me, you should go for the original aerodyne :)

@Jordo1900 check victor wooten and Steve Bailey play Stan the man, you can see Bailey playing chords on a fretless bass while wooten plays the main harmony. What you normally play in bass are broken down chords of the main melody but you can certainty play chrods.
