  • Di chi è il quadro?

  • Liszt captures the gloomy, dark atmosphere of Faust's nightly ride in a state of agony very well...he is depicting the sound of birds and the sauntering of the horse, already anticipating the later Tone Poems of Sibelius... also the procession (starting at 6:23) is wonderfully expressed by the music.

Thanks for uploading this great version, you have found the perfect painting for this music, who made it?

  • @pianopera Arnold Böcklin

  • @pianopera you're welcome

  • Wonderful!

    But this is S 110 and not S 599 :)

  • what's with Tantum Ergo theme? great orchestra indeed.

  • @FrancisArief Liszt used this hymn because in this episode Faust, while riding through a dark forest (quite desperately) suddenly hears distant singing... he passes a religious procession.

I think it's one of Liszt's most beautiful orchestral pieces!

  • 25 views and I think there all from me lol! I don't know why but I really am enjoying this piece.
