@benjenings I knew how to burn an image but after I asked the question i found out I had downloaded just the files not the iso and I was getting instructions everywhere on what to do with the iso, not the files, and i got confused
One of the problems that I had was to want to upgrade a system disk to a larger disk [Ubuntu 10.04]. I used GParted Live CD and had to then repair the grub config so the new disk would boot - Folks in a forum helped. Maybe clonezilla would have done this automatically. Sure would be nice. Suggest for a future video / series is how to do this for Windows and Ubuntu systems using Clonezilla or other better program including how to make sure that new sys will boot.
Have new HP laptop with Window 7 constantly getting corrupted and HP only answer? Format and reload everything again. Does Clonezilla work on Windows 7 yet? These comments says no.
If yes, You created an image but will it work equally well if on an UDB HD I create partitions like my laptop (sys, main partition for data and data) and copy to the USB HD then can restore back to the C drive later to avoid reloading?
Awesome. Thanks. It would be nice if they had a better GUI and the prompts it asks are a little clearer for noobs. But I've used clonezilla for 2 years now and it's fantastic. Linux rocks!!
@PCAddictsLive I think of hirens as a "one stop" disk, it does everything in one place. Scans, password recovery, boot repair, backup, it can even edit the registry &startup.
I've been using it for almost a year and it has never let me down, even in critical jobs. I am impressed with the new v12 that has been recently released, it has improved memory handling =you can run andLinux.org without problems.
if i want my partition to be put on another harddrive and boot from the new one, will this do it?

I'm planning on choosing the "device to device" option.
having my new hd installed on a USB enclosure and once it's done, installing the
new hard drive into my Alienware M11x, that should do it right? Any tips, please advise ^_^ cool video! Thanx for the info!

I went to a tour at dell today, and they showed us the SE version of clonezilla and its epic, imaged 15 machines in like 3 mins.
