if jesus isn't GOD then we are all going to hell... b/c ONLY the blood of a pure lamb, w/o blemish, and no man has these things... only GOD IS GOOD AND NO MAN...
The Church is for Christians. To equip them, teach them, enourage them, love them, ... so that they can go out into all the world and make disciples. That doesn't mean we don't love or don't welcome unbelievers, it just means we don't center our Church services around them. You want an Acts-type Church, you got it! Talk about revolution! That's just my humble opinion, though! :-)
Sorry, but that statement of faith is the gospel. Believe that, make Jesus your personal Savior, and you are saved. Sorry. Eph. 2:8-10. The point is it is the grace of God that invades the heart and reveals Christ. Ye must be born again.
i agree. the "profession of faith" is basically the Nicean Creed. and Mormons and JW's would not agree with the opening statement that there is one God the Father Son and Holy Spirit. this is very poor apologetics.
Then we must teach them about the true Messiah (Jesus Christ) and not McCain, who is only another false messiah.
Would McCain make things better? Who knows?
But is having things better our goal?
Wouldn't it be better to end the Moral Majority dreams (Which is nothing but Anti-Christ) and begin to preach a Gospel that would preach for Obama, McCain, and the rest of the nation to repent?
Hearts must be changed to stop evil in those hearts who are so changed, the rest will perish.
I enjoy your videos, but I didn't see anything wrong with that statement of faith even though I'm sure there are some brothers in Christ who might take issue with some specific point in the statement. Perhaps it could have included the crucifiction and the resurrection but other than that it didn't sound unbiblical. Are you saying that the statement wasn't detailed enough about the cross?
...The statement of faith could have included MORE emphasis on the cross and the salvation Jesus obtained for His people, but I didn't see that it was unbiblical as far as it went. I agree that Christians do need to be on guard against false doctrines though.
Yeah, I think that was the point that Kielar was meaning to make. It was completely Biblical, but it was so all inclusive that it could pertain to just about anyone who made some sort of statement of faith towards Mormonism, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. (Except for the part about the Trinity and the deity of Christ.) I didn't see much wrong with the statement, either, but I'm assuming that it is discussed elsewhere in this series. This is only a 10 minute clip out of a longer production.
Nothing was wrong with the statement, it is just when Christians never in their singing, teaching, prayers, or preaching define what they mean that is the problem.
It would be a fine statement if only the church & preacher would define it to the congregation.
Aparently, Kielar favors a more explicit doctrinal statement, which is great; but maybe he means the fact that we tend to never make clear our beliefs in a definite way.
In that "vague" statement of faith was a profession of the Trinity (one God in three persons)--yet he says that according to this vague creed, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses and other false teachers would be considered Christians. But this is the first doctrine these groups would deny!
I don't know what this young guy is talking about. Is he trying to be a legalistic John MacArthur? Faith in Christ and only Jesus Christ for their salvation happens first. Walking correctly comes after salvation. This guy is a legalist. We all know that your life will change after salvation. Is that what he is talking about? He never came to a conclusion. He left us all in the dark.
When you say "us all", who are you referring to because as long as this video has been posted, you've been the only one who's referred to Kielar as "a legalist" or claimed that you're in the dark. It may be true that you're in the dark, but I don't think it's this video's fault. Do you wish to speak of specific points raised in this video or just throw out random assertions with nothing to substantiate your claims?
Christian here my friend. I was thinking about your comment, and I think that keeping in mind the omnicience of God is essential in the case, that it is to say I have very little doubt you remember a time when you may have come to realize some things, but God knew that before you did it.
John 15:16 "Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you..."
Even though God predestinates people to salvation before the foundation of the world, the specific time and date for that saving faith can apply to an individual in many various ways. A person can become reborn as early as a few years old or all the way up to a person's last few hours on Earth, such as the thief who died on the cross with Jesus. Everybody's experience of being reborn are different, but God still has chose from the beginning to save them.
Thanks for this post! I was happy to hear the teaching that regeneration PRECEDES faith, so as to make it a GIFT. (Eph 2:8) Even Reformed people often phrase their evangelistic messages with a "decisional regeneration" assumption. Or so it sounds...
I often wondered about the teaching that a truly saved person should be able to look back on "that day" they were saved. Even Todd on WOTM said it once. Regeneration leading to faith, I believe, is sometimes radical and quick, sometimes drawn out. Like my first birth, my rebirth wasn't something I remember to the day. I look back and know that I was reborn.
Someone asked me not long ago when I was saved, and I said I wasn't sure exactly. You might have thought I had endorsed the philosophy of Hitler! This same person was referring lost people to Joel Osteen books, too, though so I took the criticism in perspective.
I was a prostitute and a man witnessed Christ to me. Within 2 weeks I stopped escorting and started reading the Word and to trying to live right. A christian girl I met asked me "how long have you been saved?" I didn't know either, and I'm still not sure.
Praise God for his love towards you, observer! I'm so happy to worship the Lord with you, and will pray tonight that your faith will forever increase.
Thank God He has saved you from that. The man watered, but God gives the increase. Your story is another example of why the important question is not "When did you get saved?", but rather, "Are you saved?" The answer to the latter is what makes all of the difference. Thanks for sharing you story. God bless you.

You cannot "make Jesus your personal Savior". If you are a child of His, He is already your personal Savior.
Or... "Make Him your Lord!" You cannot, He is already the Lord of all. Big difference between "make" and "acknowledge".

Vagueness is not what God intended.
Though, few can really say they know much about God, especially in the 21st century.

I appreciate the video, although you didn't seem to convincingly convey how the statement of faith relates to the 1 Tim. scripture.

i even memorized the time and date God saved me.
i searched their website and found out that they're reformed; but how come he did not emphasize it here that its the true biblical doctrine?
