  • linux is so non user friendly and fucking complicated to use.... ALL HAIL MICROSOFT WINDOWS :D

  • 1. Install build-essentials:

    /pool/main/b/build-essential

    2. Install 3 programs.

    /pool/main/n/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper-common

    /pool/main/n/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper utils

    /pool/main/n/ndisgtk/ndisgtk

    3. Sys > Admin > Windows Wireless Driver

  • 4. ADD DRIVER. I used my wifi cd.

    5. Top right of your screen panel. Click wireless icon.

    6. Select your router. Enter Wep

You have to get rid of ALL the previous ndiswrapper files on your system or do a fresh install of ubuntu which I did.

  • Every how to install ndiswrapper i have seen tells you to download it using the machine you want to install it on. My laptop needs ndiswrapper to use the wireless card to connect to the internet. so this tutorial dosent help at all

  • ya i know lol, try connecting an ethernet cord from your laptop to your router, thats what i did and it worked :D

  • Bah, I've been trying to install ndiswrapper for the last two days on Ubuntu. It's utterly ridiculous, I'm about to switch back to XP because of all the problems this damn OS is giving me, I've tried everything. Though, I guess I can't blame the OS, it's the manufacturer's fault for not releasing a linux version of their drivers.
