Protecting children is the most stupid of all claims.

There is plenty of possibilities to do that on the client side. But if you want to protect children, you might think of shutting down TV and the church in the first place. Pornos are avaibale for people being 18 years old. Violence is allowed from 14 years of age on. This is our morals. Fucking is forbidden, killing is fine.

@pimpstyle54321 that is considered inappropriate for children, so of course it will be banned from Australia! so will all youtube search results inappropriate for children be filtered, as well as any game that goes beyond ma15+ from all sites, including ebay. And once they have it in place, it will only get worse. Much worse. Australia's internet will eventually end up like china's internet in the long run.

the only problem with their theory is it will not at all stop child porn. its a filter it blocks known sites, if a site is known about that contains child porn, umm take it down adn arrest the poeple that put it up!! The only computer I had access to till I was 16 was in a public area and it was filtered by the Islamic government of UAE (where I lived). It was shit, half the pages I went to were blocked yet completely benign.

also, how does opt-in/opt-out work for public wifi. I lived in Abu Dhabi with a very advanced filter by the Islamic state and doing anything was a nightmare, I would run into block pages all the time on the most benign stuff because the site contained a phrase, even on the comments, that was even vaguely related to sex.
