i was thinking about getting this to play at some house parties, is the sound card in it good enough to retain quality when played over reasonably powerful speakers?

Yes. I use every week at a club (not sure a the amount of speakers or amps they use but its LOUD) and i practice at home with a average stereo and it sounds great ether way. Also you can find it wayy cheaper online vs a music store, just make sure it says (new).

ive read all the reviews. and i have an omni contol as well.. they both have advantages over another, the omni control has better sound quality the the rmx, the rmx has other stuff like there is outputs for external shit.... but the hercules look like shit. it feelss really cheap

I have an Omni Control, my honest review: If you're looking to do what the kid above is doing, or trying to get your hands on your first set of equipment to start learning how to DJ, go for it. Plan on modifying your button layout in traktor, because neither the PRO or LE midi mapping are very good. Also, the built-in soundcard isn't the best, and can sometimes drop the sound or pop in the middle of a mix if you're playing in the clubs or broadcasting. My 2 cents, Still love my Omni though.

no, dude, you're doing it all wrong... basically you're not supose to modify the songs so much, it really sounds bad. If those songs should've been modified, I'll asure you, the producers had done so... try to feel it, and sense when you step over that line... I agree with

"RUBBERDUCKTENFOUR" , do not use that effects so much, especially FLANGER, there are at least 3-4 effects that you can use in this mix, like DELAY or FILTER T2. Good Luck!

well the Omni control has the sound card built into it, so you just plug and play, plus cue... the Stealth doesn't have one, thus why its cheaper... So if you have a sound card already then just get the Stealth, if not then the Omni...

@khalycorpio buy the omni. The headphone jack is essential, and the kill switches are easier to access. to save a few quid go on ebay it will know about $50 off the original price. Deff worth the extra money though

Nice mix. How does the jog wheel work on the omni. I've been checking out the vestax vci100 because I like the way that jog wheel works. I learned old school and I want to beat match that way too, but I want a midi set up. Is the jog wheel like the vci or what?

that's the question i'm after as well.. i have an omni at the moment and as far as i can see, the jogs don't work like vinyl because you cant use 'em to "let roll" a song that you've "grabbed" at a certain position. since they're not touch sensitive they notice you letting them go too late, thus the song tempo goes to zero speed with the jog before playback kicks in again after a few ms of jog standing still. maybe theres some solution for this, but i havent found one yet. any info is welcome!

Have you made sure that the fader is in the other side (The side that is playing), and you have also got the fade cue clicked. If it has got one.

I only done some dj'ing and its been on a cd one, so might not be the same, but thats a numark.

make sure you got the setup right in traktor.. in the audio prefs.. omni out 1,2 goes to the headphones and 3,4 goes to main.

I'm going stealth control because i have a sound card already, it looks sexier too hehehe.... i think I'll go with an evolution of the ns7 once i build up my skill on the stealth control... i dont think you can go wrong for the price to build quality ratio when it comes to the omni and stealth.

That isn't a valid reason, because virtual dj is terrible software. The RMX is nice enough, but the Numark has better(24 bit) sound, better build quality and it can be used with Traktor.

@mikadpn these are from like a year ago and you probably already have your controler. but the numark omni control is better then the hercules one couse its made of better material. The hurcules is more plastic and not as good. Omni control is better and ive had both of those controlers

its a dum question but please help me lol what program are you using? if its tractor 3 le ,its not the controller that has the sound effects built in correct? its the program that comes with the effetcs? so i can use any mini controller and i wil still have the same effects that are on that program? i know im sorry i sound retarded but im just new to this lol

all the fx come from the software, the omni is just like a midi controller that has an added audio card in it to help you hear what youre doing afterwards :-)
