If Ethiopia can afford billions of dollars to shop for arms & wage wars against it's people & it's neighbors, Ethiopian can certainly build dams to conserve rain, buy generators to pump & distribute water & tractors to farm it's lands.

If the DESERTS of Egypt & Sudan can be farmed from the Nile river, sourcing in Ethiopia & feed the Egyptians & the Sudanese, Ethiopia should use the same NILE river to feed it's people.

I agree with you. Famine was there in the late 1800's, it was there in 1974 ( during the removal of Hailesellasie I)even in 1984 there was severe famine. Some estimate that it happens every 10 years with more or less similar severity. But we shouldn't panick about "Global Warming". There is more to the famine than is told by fearful reporters. The real cause is political combined with natural climate cycles. Environmentalists killed more Africans than famine by banning DDT.

Why would you want to flood the earth when resources are already getting thin. Even if you don't care about other peoples or species, even if you don't care about anyone other than yourself, surely you can see--from an economic standpoint--the stupidity of such an argument. These people need food aid for the meantime. This is because large landowners and the government control most of the productive land, whereas small farmers are a lot more vulnerable to prolonged droughts.

The United States sends tens of Millions of pounds of food to Africa. Personally, I think we should take care of our people who are starving in the streets, but apparently no one cares about that.
