  • one of my favorite weapons of wwii, i need to shoot one one day :D

  • awesome job! i thought the rate of fire was quicker, though.

  • is that gun running on 8mm? i just noticed the front cartridge spacer

  • @johnson2141 Yes, much cheaper to run than .308 or .30-06 ammo.

  • 0:32 that's how you plant in Russia

  • I want one for Christmas.

  • my dad used one of these during the second world war.

  • i watch on band of brother and the m1917 rate of fire is much faster.

  • ahh. The good old days when America's small arms had real stopping power

  • @testofeagle i know i miss thoes days too. now its all about light weight and accuracy.

  • I thought the rate of fire on these was higher? Has this gun been modified?

  • @SIG551P No, 500-550rpm is standard.

  • So it serves as a gun AND a shovel?

  • the .30 cal. Browning 1919A4 was a very reliable machine-gun.

  • @telfer880 more than the xm16e3

  • i bet you're rich !

  • allot of sand got turned that day

  • Orgasm.

  • Dear Santa...

  • I don't even want to know how much that cost. Not the 1919, the ammo. Couple hundred bucks easy @ $0.50/round

  • now thats some american firepower!

  • Bugs: Retreat, RETREAT! The enemy fire is too much!

  • slowest firerate ever

  • John Basilone We salute you

  • @rvbsmcaboose he used an m1917 browning...

  • had a boner there....

  • nice, and people, stop fighting on what guns are better

browning's rpm might be slow but that conserves ammo

mg42's rpm might be high but its for taking out larger groups

  • @rcrssmn The first purpose of any machine gun is squad support and suppressing fire, not "taking out larger groups."

If kills present themselves, then yes, but otherwise, the machine gun's purpose is to provide fire support to allow fire teams to get into position better.

  • @skankuser Well the machine gun's value comes from its ability to put out as much firepower as an infantry squad for 1/10th the cost in manpower and equipment. As least from a paper and pencil perspective. This serves as a cheap, yet hard counter to someone attempting to beat a smaller force through sheer human mass. Hence why human wave and Line Infantry tactics fell apart in the First World War.

  • WHO NEED MINING TOOLS WHEN U CAN DIG A MINE WITH MACHINE GUNS!

  • the m60 combined a lot of features from a lot of guns.

  • @fonpenbull but not a quick change barrel...

  • wow i just had a wargasm

  • getting one in about 3 months just turned in my form 4 to the atf.

    PS

    LOVE THIS VIDEO

  • the US forces never adopted the mg42 they stuck with the browning 30. cal, and the m60. the m60 is still in service today. other countries do use the mg42, but not america

  • @bearsfan54beast the m60 has mg42 features

  • @rustystevens1 the m60 was built off of the mg42

  • EAT:

    thisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthisthis

    rambo would be proud :D

  • Did they develop disintergrating link belts for this gun, i noticed you used colth belts in this video.

  • @gundog39 Yes but the M13 metal links where originally used only in aircraft during WW2. I like to use cloth belts also because it doesn't scratch the trunion block.

  • @C2builder Do you load your own belts and do you make your own ammuntion. I Find the art hand loading interesting.

  • @gundog39 I buy the ammunition loose in large bulk and use a WW2 Browning cloth belt loader to load the belts. Hand loading ammo for a machine gun is a full time task I don't have time for.

  • @C2builder Can you buy .30-06 ammunition brand new or can you only buy it surplus. Is .30-06 is a powerful round, what other round could you compare it too.

  • @gundog39 I buy Mil Surplus ammo. The 30-06 and 8mm Mauser rounds are very similar.

  • @C2builder Is Mil suplus ammo expensive or is it relatively cheap. Though one aspect about this gun that does interest me, would it be possible to convert it from .30-06 to 7.62x51mm nato. I hope you don't mind me asking all these question, it's just that i am truly fascinated by guns and how they work. I do aplogise if this question sounds stupid but have ever considered buidling an old crank action gatling gun.

  • MG42>Browning 1919A4 its firerate is to slow

  • @Yeowie69

Too slow? Maybe you haven't noticed, by the 1919A4 is WAY more accurate than the MG42

  • @AGeekWithAShotgun With single shot mod the MG42 is more accurate than this gun.....(after WWII, U.S soilders dropped their 30. cal Browning, and they started using MG42, witch is still under use nowdays)

    sorry 4 my english

  • @bosshunterman I think if you do more background checking you will see that the MG42 did not have single shot selection only full-auto. The MG34 had both selections of fire. Also, the Browning .30 was used by American forces through WW2 and up to Viet Nam along side the M60 GPMG. The U.S. Forces never used or adopted the MG42, today other countries do use it as the M53 and MG3.

  • @C2builder And by the way it's still in service under name MG3( with standard NATO rifle caliber), and in it's original format called MG42

    (bad english again....)

  • @AGeekWithAShotgun Erm no the MG42 is incredible accurate plus a high rate of fire will keep the enemy head down

  • there goes my life savings.

  • 0:31 how to mulch up the dirt for planting!! XD

  • is it worth paying the big price tag for a full auto original or should i just get a semi auto one. just because the mg42 has a higher rate of fire and it was german doesent mean it was better. the m1919 fired a more powerfull round and it was accuret and reliable. many german troops died during the mg42s barrle change.

  • mg 42 is so much better

  • @terminator303 - The MG42 isn't the God of machine guns. It had a problem in that it went through ammunition *too fast* and when you're out of ammunition and the enemy is closing in on you, that can rather ruin your day.

  • It's ugly, loud, doesn't have a high rate of fire, and isn't very accurate, but will "never jam" and will "last forever" - so says my grandpa.

  • My great-grandfather got to operate this gun in Italy. It's got a bark just as bad as its bite. I still prefer the MG42, but this one isn't too far behind for sure.

  • @TheReelHacker Its obsolete, they replaced it with the M240.

  • This is a very good shooting good work old boy jajaja jk im not British Im American Californian

  • My favorite machine gun of all time. :D

  • dude the 30 cal was very good to us so is the mg but my opinion is 30 cal plause how much was it?

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!

  • Hey C2builder , nice videos man , im from Brazil, military , these machine guns are olds but work very good!.. i liked your other video between russian and german!nice machine guns!

Have a nice day man !

  • can the 1919a6 be mounted on a that tripod and the but stock come off like this one

  • put an old car in your shooting range

  • You have to be a artist to win a war but and at least you have this incredible peace of art...:-)

  • that's bannanas.....I went hunting a while back with some friends of mine out in Spartanburg SC, we were hunting Deer. And one of m friends had recently purchased a remington REM 700. That's the first time I've ever fired a 30-06 round. I shitted in my pants a little bit from the blast.....

  • Just imagine, being behind one of these in WW2, and even more if on the other end of the gun .

  • learned about this gun from watching Saving Private Ryan

  • @C2builder I'll have to check if it says 7.62. It has six latches and a detachable lid. The thing looks pretty neat. What year was the Keoran war, do you know? Also does the can have any significant value?

  • @C2builder How far back does this gun date? I was in the top of my addic, above my living room and I found an Ammo container, it says many different things, but up at the top and bigger than the others, it says "950 .30 CRTG" or something in that nature. I believe it stored .30 Cal ammo. Could you tell me anything about the can, or how far back the gun dates? By the way, the can also says Rifle Grenades, which are replaced by your standard Grenade Launcher, and was widely used in WWI.

  • @witepowerman The Browning 1917 was invented in 1917 and after WW1 they dropped the water cooled jacket in place of the air cooled barrel you see in this video, around 1919.

There were many types of ammo cans made and by many companies from WW1 thru WW2. Some cans were made in WW1 and used in WW2 after they were repainted. The .30 CRTG marking is for .30-06 calliber ammo and may have had other uses as well. If the ammo can reads "7.62" then it is for .308NATO and was after the Korean War.

  • @C2builder I saw a water cooled browning on the pacific, a WW2 series about the pacific campaign.

  • @C2builder that sight looks close to a M60

  • Just out of curiosity, what does a gun like this cost? And what are the rules around operating moving and storing it? I'm not american so if I wanted to own one I would get to spend quite a while in prison :D

  • @Ralroost A really good condition gun like this can cost from $10,000US up to $15,000US. The rules vary as to what State you live in but all must pass a tight background check and be 21yrs old or older.

  • @C2builder is saw one online for about 1,200us

  • PACK A PUNCH IT!

  • SLOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW AS HELLLLL!!!

  • well i prefer the german MG42 also called the Hitlersäge ;)

the best maschine gun ever built

  • i know about a soldier in ww2; he was carrying one of these. he was part of a fireing squad, it was just him and 2 other guys that accidentally walked into japanese camp and the japs killed the 2 soldiers beside the soldier with the browning, you see they were his greatest most trusted friends he had but they gunned them down, so he pulled up the belt-fed 30-cal. he killed all the japs and then captured the camp. he had burns all down his arm because he held the barrel on his arm for accuracy.

  • @TheBadash1 That sounded like John Basilone. But I'm not sure if the guy you mention was or wasn't.

  • You hit someone on 0.07 you hear pop :P

  • GET OFF MY FUCKING LAWN, damn kids!

  • Killed many rocks? *kidding*

  • I just watched your MG42 vid before thisd and it makes the 1919 sound like single shot rifle.

  • Worst thing about that is when the belt ends

  • imagine being shot at with that gun.scary and amazing.

  • Thumbs up if youd have one on youre front porch :D

  • LOVE WHEN THOSE BULLETS HIT THE DIRT IN SLO MO!

  • how come it dosent shoot fast like in the movies?

  • @UMPFan2010 some do, some dont. it varies.

  • A fist person sight my grandfather was VERY familiar with in Korea

  • im sure your neighbours wouldnt come tell you about the noise.... LOL....they probably preferred to move....

  • mg42 1 st place

  • Home defense at its best. hahahha

  • .

    BEST. GUNPORN. EVER.

    .

  • I have fired one of these. But only with blanks; still I count myself lucky :)

  • omg i love the sound of it its great , i got some videos from brothers in arms hells highway 30.cal shooting , and company of heroes 30.cal shooting

  • Mighty awesome.

    I didn't realize it was a full 30-06 round.

    Nasty stuff.

Videos like this are what keep foreign enemies convinced they can never take America by invasion.

They will have to do it by politics and deception.

One of the head Japanese generals is on record as saying there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.

Keep that baby working and pray you only use it for target practice.

Daggum 30-06 aren't cheap, you must reload your own.

  • @flintstone9812 These aernt even in service anymore so very few people would be using these in the event of an invasion.

  • Yes! finally! a good 30 cal shooting video!

  • @qifa100 You need to read some of the earlier comments below, most questions have already been asked....and answered.

  • Sounds just like it did on Lock n' Load w/R. Lee Ermey.

  • would be awesome if you could do a M2 Browning 50 cal. like these

  • excellent vid no b.s music just the browning with good sound quality and showing what it can do.

  • Is it at all ammo sensitive like the Garand, or is the system so robust that any 30-06 ammo can be used?

  • @davidgcalderone All guns are at the mercy of bad or old ammo and from different countries of manufacture. If the ammo is of good quality the gun will run hours on end with no problems.

  • Haha, shaping the landscape the good ol' American way!

  • A great video! Very well done. Thanks for sharing it with us.

  • wow this is so awesome, In ww2 nazis would be scared sh*tless!

  • @supermega1529 yer they sure would be scared sh*tless, that is up untill they bring up the squad's mg 42

  • i dunno...the MG42's pretty damn scary itself

  • DAMN NICE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A+ One of the best M1919 videos on YouTube. I especially like the slo-mo shot of the feeding mechanism tugging at the belt : )

  • the .30 Calliber M1919, a Gun wich is capeble of typing your name into a brick wall!

    5 starz.

  • Does M1919A4 need modification for metal linked belts? i heard M1917A1 and 1919A6 don't need one.

  • No mods needed, however, the tech manuals say you should replace the belt feed pawl, but I've never seen one that was affected one way or the other. Good question, thanks.

  • Nice..but nothing beats that MG-42 of yours! You should have added watermelons in that video to show the full devastation

  • What a perfect rate of steady fire! This is a wonderful machine gun!

  • im only use to firing blanks at shows in the UK not fair!! love it C2builder regards josh

  • Is there a way to speed up the Rate of Fire?

  • @nbenicewicz, yes, if you replace the bolt and barrel for one that goes to the aircraft version (ANM2 or M37) the rate of fire will increase. The aircraft parts are alot lighter.

  • how much would the 1919 go for?

  • @ZIPPIBOY12345, today's registered 1919's go for around $12K - $13K US.

  • great video almost felt I I heard the bullets past my ears

  • Are you a millionaire?

  • @Chompa901, no I'm just a "hundredaire".

  • @C2builder - LOL nice vid as usual 5*

  • @C2builder I think a comparison of the Browning 1917, and the Browning 1919 would be great. Like you did with the Bren, and the Zb-30

  • Superb!

  • That is a beautiful sounding gun...

  • Five Stars My Friend!

  • cool stuff

  • Ah now you are realy needing the browning belt loader :)

  • another boring day at the office ?

  • What would be awesome...

Take a pumpkin or watermelon... but a helmet on it and put it behind that mound at the top, and then light it up. Or dig a small fox whole and put the armored fruit in there. Assault the melons!

    Awesome vid btw. :D

  • Isn't the design in the public domain now? the patent was filed 110 years ago right?

  • nice
